Dplyr question
Hi All,
Trying to get familiar with dplyr so I have a basic question:
How to summarise sum(Values) per species, maintaining Code column (each species has a Code):
Species Values Code
1 Acanthocybium solandri 33 LC
2 Makaira nigricans 20 VU
3 Makaira nigricans 20 VU
4. Makaira nigricans

Debugging Samba is a total PITA and this needs to improve
Hai Sven,
I do agree on somepoint here, but not all.
First off all, samba does produce usefull reporting info.
Depending on log levels you have set. ( man smb.conf /log level ).
And then again we always have to ask, can you show the smb.conf.
Not that i dont believe you have wrong setting but because i must see you have good setttings.
And the problem is not always/only samba, keep in

Sven,
Fist fix the smb.conf as i suggested, cap and non caps where it should be.
Resolving settings based on the script output looks ok.
Fix krb5.conf
Then how many DC's are you having?

Pattern matching: least-to-most specific PITA
My synapses are rather fried after a long few days of debugging other
problems, so perhaps I'm being lazy in sending this to the general
list, but I can't think straight about it. Forgive me if there is an
overly obvious solution to this.
I have a list of phone numbers that are SIP extensions. I'd like to
dial them via SIP if ${EXTEN} is equal to one of those numbers. If

Why do we use /usr/lib/python to install python libraries?
This seems exceptionally evil and is definitely a PITA. What was the
original problem that led us to do this? I''d like to take a stab at
correcting it so we can have a more sane installation.

Anthony Liguori

After 7.1 is released, I will try again to get permission to do this. I
am not giving up hope, just working with legal issues is quite a PITA.
But, I personally work try to move to EL7 for machines needing chrome,
as the one directly from google currently works.

Telco with multipe SIP servers
Hi!
My telco is Deutsche Telekom and they got about 30 SIP servers right now.
Currently I've set up a template for incoming calls in sip.conf and added
each SIP server by it's IP address like this:
[DTAG-in-1](DTAG-in-template)
host=217.0.16.103
...
[DTAG-in-30](DTAG-in-template)
host=217.0.20.99
I've done that to improve security and to be able to assign all calls

The smb.conf hasn't changed since the last three or four times I've
posted here asking for help:
https://up.tao.at/u/samba/villach-file.txt
Top level error I'm seeing is that since today *some* Windows users are
denied SMB access to this one member server ("Network password is
invalid"), but not all users. Worked fine before today.

dell says bye bye to Linux
Well. A priori. I'm a dedicated legacy OS person. I cut my teeth on
command line DOS and then WIN 3.xx (these days that means WFWG 3.11). I drew
the line at WIN9x. Hate that beast with a true passion, but because it is
the 800 pound gorilla, I have to find some way to accomodate it in the
future.
So, here is the rub. Linux is a real PITA. Capital PITA. Unbelievably techie
and that is bad.

Does Asterisk support DNIS?
The subject pretty much says it all.
Does Asterisk support DNIS, and if so, what kind of connection is required?
(T1, PRI)
I've got a wink start T1.
I've read comments that say the DNIS will be seen as an extension, but I'm
seeing each digit of the DNIS as a separate extension. So in my case I send
DNIS of 12345, Asterisk will jump from extension 1 to extension 2 to
extension 3 to

gnbd vs drbd
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Up until now, I have been using drbd for file custers with great success.
Yes, it is a PITA, and sometimes you can get annoying sincronization
issues (mostly on lab situations).
Now I have been considering giving gnbd (with cs/gfs) a try.
Do any of you ever crossed this path ? Any comparisons or comments ?
TIA,

Registry entries
Can anyone point me at a good doc on farting about with the registry?
Or do you feel like giving me the fool's guide?
I have large tracts of registry entries to stuff in, and adding them via
Edit/new in regedit is an absolute PITA and unworkably slow.
I have files from exported from a win98 registry (via windoze regedit)
with the correct info.

Anyone else using CFS on CentOS 4.4 ?
I have started using it today (unimportant stuff for now, for testing),
and am wondering what are other people experiences with it.
I'm using version 1.4.1, rpms kindly provided by Karan on his repository.
My main concern is data loss, not security itself. From what I noticed,
the strenght of CFS crypto is
