OT - how to get BT to present a number
...ate 0870 numbers that are mapped onto 2 DDI numbers. I would like to be able to present these 0870 numbers from the business units so that the correct number is displayed on a callerid, or when 1471 is dialled. BT claim that I can only have a single presentation number on the entire isdn line. Pipex claim that I can have a presentation number allocated to each DDI number that dials out. On the same ISDN line ! They simply take over the line, it's still fed into the BT exchange. Short of moving to Pipex, what can I do to get BT to allow me to do this ? Who do I need to speak to ? What t...

Samba PDC and Word
I have Samba running as a PDC and it works perfectly, until that is, a Win 2000 user authenticated by the PDC and with a profile on the Samba server wants to access Word and then after a minute or so Word crashes, I got the same result with a Redhat PDC and also with an SME server distro. Informed suggestions other than dump Word are very welcome... John Russell Digital Media Lab University of

leaky bucket on bursty multicast
Hi all, I have an average 2mbit multicast stream that once in a while bursts high (up to 20mbit/s) in short periods (about 200ms). Could anyone please help me with directions using tc for configuing leaky bucket shaping to this stream? I have a 5mbit/s ceiling. My system is running gentoo linux 2.6.14, and I have compiled in all QoS modules. Thanks. Oivind

new login library alpha release
Hi, I've just posted an early alpha of a new login record library 'liblogin' to my website -> http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/andre.lucas/openssh.html . It's released as a patch, and it doesn't enable itself by default. Read the instructions first! This release is missing a lot of functionality, but is tested and working on Linux (RH6.0 anyway) and OpenBSD. Why you might want it on OpenBSD is covered on the...

New liblogin release
...if it works on other systems or not. If you could send me the output of 'testlogin' (in the liblogin directory) when you try it, I would be very grateful. Can someone tell me which platforms have directory-mode lastlog? I need to add that support in. New liblogin 0.3alpha
FYI a new version of liblogin, 0.3alpha, is up on my website at http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/andre.lucas/liblogin.html This version fixes a few bugs and has implementations for the full API, including 'get last login time' support, even for systems without lastlog. New OpenSSH patches against 1.2.2 are also available, to enable the last login time features. Again, the functio...

Rsync problem / Special characters
Hi, I have not esatblished a working rsync config on my server, but have found one major problem in which i hope there is a solution to. I'm based in Norway, with scandinavian clients. Of course we use several "special characters" in our keymap, which is not supported in US keyboards etc. I know there is a better word for this, unfortunatly i can't remeber it, so i hope you

changing ip
I require some advice. I've had samba running nicely for a couple of months, however I needed to change the ip addresses for my network. Since changing the ip addresses, whenever I start WinXp and log on it takes about 3-4 mins to log on. Also when I try to browse using windows explorer I sometimes have to wait 3-4mins, then I get the same delay when logging off. If I use dos though and change

Re: Rsync with smbfs filesystem and character s like é - updated from version on RSync List
...me! I think there may be a bug somewhere although its possible that I have done something wrong somewhere. My reason for saying this is everything works perfectly when the windows machine is "uploading" the files but not when rsync is copying them. Question about htb class
Hi everyone. I''m new to this list and I have some questions regarding HTB class. I was trying to see how tc sets the parameters for HTB, but really couldnt understand them. So, I thought that I might ask the wizards. It''s mainly from the source code. 1. What is the cell_log ? (its everywhere in the code) 2. Why does htb calculate its burst(buffer) with tc_xmit_time() ? Is

login code in a separate library?
...own. I think that the best way to get this right is to separate the admin function of recording a login from SSH's security functionality. I'm hoping to get this ready for inclusion in the next round of test releases (i.e. after 1.2.1). Ta, -Andre -- Andre Lucas <andre.lucas at dial.pipex.com> http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/andre.lucas/

Man pages on HPUX (and others?)
...nd users install groff ;-) Neither is great, but as things stand right now HP users get garbage for manpages. It's not too much effort to provide them with pages preprocessed by a decent troff implementation, so I think we should do so.
