Is = now the same as <- in assigning values
...s occured, becuase I continously get the same result wether I use <- or =. I would be extremely helpful for any answer to this. = seams more intuitive, so I assumed that an update had been made due to popular demand and that was why I get the same output wether I use <- or =. mode data=journal in ext3. Is it safe to use?
...use mode data=ordered instead. Data integrity is much more important for us than speed. What do you people out there say? I also try to post this in the kernel mailing list. I have not subscribed to the kml so if anybody there have som advisory about this I would be pleased if you could CC me. mode data=journal. Is it safe to use?
...and consistent as possible. We can not tolerate any garbage in the files after a crash or sudden power failures. We have then decided to use ext3 with mode data=journal. Can I rely on this? We use kernel 2.6.5 on PowerPC 8260, and may be using newer kernels later in the project. Best regards -- Petter Larsen cand. scient. moreCom as 913 17 222

I'm reposting this problem (perhaps a bug) now I've got more information on it. This is another point of view of the situation and I hope someone could have run into the same trouble before (and solved it :-)) This is it: * with ntbackup 2000 I create a 22Gb .bkf file in the windows machine. * I can copy that file over a samba share and get correct info form the file in windows

Subfolders not listed in Dovecot-1.2.2 with listescape
After upgrading to Dovecot-1.2.2 from 1.1* subfolders disappeared, though it was possible to access them directly, e.g. with "mutt -f =lists/dovecot". The problem only occurs if the listescape plugin is enabled. Hi If I add a specific machine to my hosts allow list in the global section of my smb.conf, then that machine can access any of the shares on that server. If I only add the machine to a hosts allow list in a specific share, when I try and connect to that share from that machine I get an error : 'Specified computer did not recieve your request' and in log.smb : 'Connection denied from

First sorry for my bad English. I have a Windows software that needs to access a mapped network drive in Wine complains that he does not view the network drive (it needs to see this: / / server / folder). I tried to map the network drive using explorer.exe of Wine, but when I access the menu in "mapping the network drive" complains the error: "No network drive." I looked

Problems recovering data from broken disk
Hi, maybe someone could help me out here: I have a broken disk with serveral partitions (1-3 primary, 4 extended and 5-6 logical). I am able to get access to the primary partions and already recovered the data. I can see all partitions using fdisk -l /dev/hdc. But I cannot mount the logical ones: mount -t ext3 /dev/hdc5 /mnt mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on
