Samba max protocol for windows 10
Hello, One of our customer has a Samba 3 domain and they have troubles when they try to join a Windows 10 computer, i'm pretty sure it's because we need to set server max protocol = NT1 on the domain configuration like the wiki says. But i'm wondering, what about other workstations ? There's no bad behavior limiting the maximum protocol to the current joined workstations

Creating a simple sum (or: I suck at blocks!)
I''ve been hacking on this for awhile and am not even getting close. Consider the following... results = Sample.find(:all) total_counter = results.each{|result| #Add together result.counter} I just want to simply iterate through the list and sum the counter field for each row into an aggregation. I could do it in a full for loop, but is there a nice one liner I''m missing?

Accentuated characters issue when receiving attributes from "samba user syncpasswords"
I receive stdin input from "samba user syncpasswords" in my python script. The user is created with ' Active Directory Users and Computers', and have some accentuated characters in their givenName and/or familyName (sn) When parsing the diff, the CN reads of, but weird characters appears in the attributes instead of the right name : INFO:root:DN found: CN=Arsène

Make sure that Visual Studio works before 1.2 release
I was thinking that should be a good idea to make sure that at least Visual Studio 2008 is properly working in wine, before 1.2 release. In this way, we could test specific functions in wine, by creating simple test applications to test if the system calls are working well. I think that Visual Studio is a key application to test wine compatibility with windows, and it is an application that can be

Rsync to samba share very slow
Hello list, I'm trying rsnapshot for taking snapshots of data. It's based on rsync. While running a rsnapshot job on my member server to sync files to another the IO is very slow. I did a mount of the samba share of the backup server on the production server. It's mounted rw with vers=2.1 and a credentials file. While rsnapshot is running it takes a long time to finish the sync.

And I believe that programmes can have a reasonable expectation that $(uname -p) matches what gcc will produce by default ? I cursed like a sailor when Apple

To build klibc against kernel 3.4.3
It seems that a minor modification to usr/klibc/arch/$(ARCH)/MCONFIG is needed to build klibc successfully against kernel version 3.4.3. At lease the arch "arm" and "x86_64" have this issue. It is because that some include files are under "generated/asm/" in addition to "asm/". --- a/usr/klibc/arch/x86_64/MCONFIG +++ b/usr/klibc/arch/x86_64/MCONFIG @@ -36,4

help needed on MICE....
...I have written functions f1 and f2, which is used in a larger function p. f1 and f2 calls on a data set which is acted on by the mice function. when f1 and f2 calls on mice, the source data set gets filled in by different values for the same position which was earlier populated by NA's. This perverts the return object of p, which acts on the source data populated by different values for the same NA position. Is there any other way to fill the NA position, in the source data, by the same value by the mice function, irrespective by the number of calls by mice? In other words, the NA value has t...
