ACLs, imap and launchd
I was going to experiment with ACLs when I faced a small problem. It is just sufficient to enable the acl plugin for getting the behavior described hereafter. When launching dovecot from the command line, one gets: sh-3.2# /usr/local/dovecot/sbin/dovecot -F ILoading modules from directory: /usr/local/dovecot-1.2.rc6/lib/ dovecot/imap IModule loaded:

Documentation for downloading and reading offline
Is there anywhere that I can download the Ruby/Rails documentation & APIs so I can peruse it offline at leisure? I only have a dialup connection at home and going online all the time to access important documentation like that is a bit of a pain. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Outlook 2000 & attachments
Hi, I'm using Outlook 2000 under Wine 20050111. Generally things work great, apart from one very annoying problem - whenever I try to open a message with an attachment, Outlook crashes. I'm connecting via exchange and it doesn't seem to matter what sort of attachment it is - it simply crashes as soon as I click on the message. Anyone had any similar problems and know a workaround?

Storing passwords encrypted... bcrypt?

Samba and LDAP
After perusing the Samba 3.x docs and purchasing Terpstra's and Vernooij's excellent Samba-3 Howto, I am still unclear on LDAP authentication. Not a Windows admin so please bear with me. 1) Regarding the Samba schema, is there a tool to extract the Windows client information (sid, etc.) for populating...

Maximum number of connections in R
It appears that the maximum number of connections available in R is about 48. Can anyone tell me how to bump this number up? I've been perusing the source, but any info would speed things up. Is there a reason that it was set to such a low number? Thanks for any help. -Frank

W2k devmode
Our server is a SuSE Linux 7.2 with CVS samba 2.2 branche. Version number is 2.2.pre-4. We updated today. We have a problem with the default devmode in Windows 2000 (SP2) clients. We have uploaded the printerdrivers to the share print$. The Samba printeradministrator is able to change the printer capabilities as memory, trays, papersize. etc. Changes are global: when a user logs in, he sees

Constrained optimization
Greetings, R-Wizards: I'm trying to find an extremum subject to a nonlinear constraint. (Yes, I have perused the archives but have found nothing positive.) The details of the problem are these: In a paper published some years ago in Technometrics, ("Confidence bands for cumulative distribution functions of continuous random variables" Technometrics, 25, 77-86. 1983), Cheng and

Voicemail and ADSI
Anyone using this feature of asterisk's voicemail? I'd never heard of ADSI, and saw it as I was perusing the voicemail source this morning. Is it some kind of visual way of managing voicemail on your phone's display, or does it require a terminal of some kind? Thanks! j

Hello, I have been perusing the documentation looking for the default list of variables that puppet defines such as $operatingsystem. [LLVMdev] Any plans to add LLVM support for ARM EH EABI ?
I am new to LLVM but have perused the code alongside using llvm-gcc and CLANG to build ARM EABI objects. Based on this superficial analysis it appears that LLVM currently does not support the ARM Exception Handling ABI (as defined under the EABI). Can anyone comment on whether plans are in place to remedy this? I did see the discussion regarding work on the MC for ARM. Will this work include

Status of linux 2.6 support
I'm sure that this question gets asked frequently, but a quick perusal of the list archives shows that it hasn't been asked in a least a month or so, so pardon any repetition. What is the current state of asterisk on linux 2.6? I ask, because I spent yesterday giving it a whirl, and everything seems to go just fine till the very last minute.
