ROCR - best sensitivity/specificity tradeoff?
Hi,
My questions concerns the ROCR package and I hope somebody here on the list can help - or point me to some better place.
When evaluating a model's performane, like this:
pred1 <- predict(model, ..., type="response")
pred2 <- prediction(pred1, binary_classifier_vector)
perf <- performance(pred, "sens", "spec")
(Where "prediction" and "performance" are ROCR-functions.)
How can I then retrieve...

X45xx storage vs 7xxx Unified storage
We are looking at adding to our storage. We would like ~20TB-30 TB.
we have ~ 200 nodes (1100 cores) to feed data to using nfs, and we are looking for high reliability, good performance (up to at least 350 MBytes /second over 10 GigE connection) and large capacity.
For the X45xx (aka thumper) capacity and performanance seem to be there (we have 3 now)
However, for system upgrades , maintenance

Speeding up Samba
I have a 3.2 GHz P4 Win XP Pro connected to a Fedora Core 4 server
running on a 2 GHz Celeron. I get about 350 MB/s FTP
transfer over a Gigabit Ethernet connection.
Samba is very much slower between the same computers.
Can Samba be sped up to where it approaches the
FTP performance?

W95 speed issue
Hello all, I've got a W95 box connected via crossover to a 2.2.12
RH 6.0 linux box, running 2.0.3 samba.
Writes to samba from Win explorer are around 450 K/sec.
Reads from samba to Windows using Explorer are around 8 K/sec.
Using the smb version of tcpdump, I see between a .200 and .220
second lag between packets. smbd is nowhere near the top of my
"top" list output in linux.

[LLVMdev] Is LLVM our answer??
Thanks for writing, Nate!
Yikes, I totally missed those MSVS docs--it shows just how large and comprehensive LLVM has become! Thanks for helping clarify MSVS support!

[LLVMdev] Is LLVM our answer??
Hey everyone, I'm new to LLVM and am conducting LLVM R&D as CTO for some new technology in our company products. I've done a basic review of all the major components and have walked through the Kaleidoscope tutorial in order to get a feel for LLVM since it seems to address the needs we're looking to fill. Separately, congrats to all the LLVM developers for making LLVM grow to be

ZFS Scalability/performance
Hello,
I''m quite interested in ZFS, like everybody else I suppose, and am about
to install FBSD with ZFS.
On that note, i have a different first question to start with. I
personally am a Linux fanboy, and would love to see/use ZFS on linux. I
assume that I can use those ZFS disks later with any os that can
work/recognizes ZFS correct? e.g. I can install/setup ZFS in FBSD, and
later use

connection will remain a TCP connection unless it is broken and restarted.
Usually if I stop the client and wait for about 30 seconds to reconnect,
there is a much greater chance that the MTU probes work fine, and in about
30 seconds MTU is fixed to 1416.
Every time when the MTU probing fails, I see latency between 700 - 1000 ms
with 32 byte pings over a LAN.

On the server side, I didn't get far because the domain name come up NULL so
it failed on that test.
Below are two logs log98.txt and log2000.txt that show full debug info.
I might just have a stupid configuration or installation mistakes. I am sure
that my basic configuration must work since it is a very typical setup.
Any help will be highly appreciated
