Re: Using wine for Peoplesoft Development
...y forward with this I'd be grateful. If anyone want to try this, then the software is freely available, although it is nearly 600MB and you have to have an Oracle account (free): * Go to http://edelivery.oracle.com and sign in. * In the Media Pack Search select the following: Product Pack: PeopleSoft Enterprise Platform: Linux x86-64 * Scroll down to "PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.52 Media Pack" and select the link. * Scroll down to "PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.52 Client Only" and select Download. * Unzip the package, and run the installer from there: $ wine cmd /c Client/Disk1/...

RedHat Xen and PeopleSoft/Oracle Support Matrix
We have heard some concerns that Oracle does not support RedHat XEN OS when it comes to hosting Web and App servers. Does anyone knows of a link that clearly shows the support matrix as to what is supported and what is not? Below is our versions. We use PeopleTools 8.49.07. Strange Log-In Problem Samba 1.9.18
Hello, got a problem with logging into Samba shares, using NT WS SP4: Samba was set up working properly with several different users and several shares. Now I can't log in any more for one user. I see the server and I see the shares, but when I try to open one of the shares, I get the message "network path not found on server". However, I know the shares are there and the other

rsync ok with open files?
Hi gang. I am synchronizing Windows machines (cwRsync/cygwin) with FreeBSD server. A batch file is used to initiate the process (shell invoked rsync daemon). My question is whether I need to tell my users to close any affected applications (ex: Outlook; I am synchronizing the outlook.pst file) during the procedure? Tie web application to VOIP
I want to tie my web application (built using .NET + MS SQL Server) into a VOIP service so that users can call each other. I want them to interface with my application's username system. On the receiving user's end, he can either receive the call using a VOIP phone, or windows application (like skype). I would use Skype's API, but it appears I need to use their username system, and

[Bounty] 1 pizza for 1 simple plugin
So here''s the deal. I don''t know the innards of rails well enough to do this quickly but you might. First person to write this and release it under MIT license or public domain, and tells me, gets a free pizza from your favorite local delivery place. You pick the toppings, I''ll call ''em and order it up for you. Yeah a pizza isn''t much but I''m

Advocating RoR in the enterprise?
Hi folks, I''m looking for advice on how to promote RoR in my workplace. Specifically, I''d like to work out a strategy for promoting development in Rails as a new alternative to our existing technology (the usual suspects... mostly Java/Oracle, .NET, PHP, and a bit of Perl here and there). Some background: I work for a fairly large state environmental agency as a web developer.
