looking for a basic spatial diff function
...1 long3, lat3, distance = long/lat3 - long/lat2 I've probably missed it but a search of the maillist archives and quick scan of the packages (map*) did not solve my query. For this simple task I don't really want to get into GRASS. reinstalling R/ mandrake 9.1/ rpm
...there any problem with the rpm? Or perhaps just something odd on my system? Should I uninstall the rpm using something like urpmi.removemedia, and then try and install the source with ./congure, make and make install? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks. plot.gam for glm objects.
...e past I have passed glm objects to the plot.gam function. To my knowledge this functionality isn't included in R ( I would be happily corrected here) and if someone had some code floating around to do this it would save me re-inventing wheels etc. Thanks Toby Toby Patterson Sustainable Pelagic Fisheries and Ecosystems CSIRO Marine Research

Fish Ecology Post-Doctoral Research Associate needed in Woods Hole, MA
...atistics.com <mailto:HR at IntegratedStatistics.com> Integrated Statistics is looking for a postdoc to work on a joint project between scientists at the National Marine Fisheries Service and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution examining the ecology of forage species, especially meso-pelagic fishes and euphausiids, at the New England continental shelf break and slope. model of fish over exploitation
Dear all, I have a serious problem to solve my model. I study over exploitation of fish in the bay of biscay (france). I know only the level of catch and the fishing effort (see data below) by year. My model is composed by the following equations: * the growth function Gt(St) = r*St*(1-St/sbar) with Gt the growth of each period t r intrinsec growth of the stock sbar carriyng capacity of the
