Checkpointing
Hi, Is there any way you can save a xen domain without suspending it or stopping it? I want to set up something so if my xen session crashes I can fire up another xen session from the save file that I created 5 minutes before the crash and hopefully minimize downtime. Thanks -- ------------------------------ Christopher Vaughan

Estimating the standard error when you have sampling weights.
Hi, Where can I find information ( freely available on the Internet , and also books or other sources ) on how having sampling weights changes the calculation of the standard error (of means and proportions)? How good is R for this type of procedure? And SAS? thanks Robert [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

IPRA, interprocedural register allocation, question
Vivek, I apologize if you took my original email as a request for implementation, I meant to be asking what is already available, I think the answer to that is the ‘preserves_most’ and ‘preserves_all’ attributes, but I will also Use ‘regmask’ if those prove to be too sub-optimal. I am still interested in figuring out the necessary and sufficient conditions For LLC to do optimal IPRA

Proposal of some radical changes to API
Hey guys, Now that the Lucy[1] project has Apache approval and is about to begin, the onus is no longer on Ferret to strive for Lucene compatability. (We''ll be doing that in Lucy). So I''m starting to think about ways to improve Ferret''s API. The first part that needs to be improved is the Document API. It''s annoying having to type all the attributes to

JavaScript book recommendations
No, not a question, but a few suggestions. I take it that everyone serious about using Prototype & Co. already has Christophe''s (Porteneuve) Prototype and Script.aculo.us book. Apart from that, I''d like to point out two new, library-agnostic books: Cameron Adams and several others The Art & Science of JavaScript Sitepoint 2008 http://www.sitepoint.com/books/jsdesign1/

All I want to do is stream...
Hi All - First post, and something of an audio newbie, so please be gentle. I'm cross-posting this to both icecast and vorbis, albeit in separate emails. I'll try to give as much detail as possible so this might get a bit wordy. I've been trying to get a live stream running for a local college radio station. It's currently up on a Slackware system - but

Polycom Dialplan Digitmaps
I'm replacing a SoundPoint IP 600 with a SoundPoint IP 650. I attempted to simply reuse the existing config files for the old phone on the new phone, but the new phone would lock up on the 4th digit when attempted to dial out certain numbers. So, I downloaded the newest firmware and config templates from Polycom, and attempted to migrate the settings. Seems I'm missing something from

The Getting Started Guide is a bit misleading on this point because the "Install the llvm-gcc-4.2 front end" step comes before the "Build the LLVM Suite" step, implying that LLVM GCC is a dependency, but it's not. FWIW, here's how I build
