I am having heaps of trouble browsing other subnets, on the other side of our routers. After a LOT of surfing thru the digests, it appears that I need at least version 1.17 of Samba. I am currently running 1.9.16p10 on IRIX 6.2. Problem I do not have access to a C compiler, and I cannot find a copy of the IRIX binaries anywhere on the net. Samba Gurus. We run W95 and NT4 clients in a mixed environment of Netware and Samba on SGs. Netware is the primary network login(over IPX/SPX). Am using clear text passwords for the Samba network. NT 4 is patched up to SR 3. Samba version 1.9.18p7. Problem. Samba performance from NT 4 machines is VERY slow. Many orders of magnitude slower than W95 which is very good. This performance
