AdobeReader on 64-bit PCLOS--how?
Some days ago I queried the list about getting LightScribe and AdobeReader to work on a 64-bit PCLOS-KDE system. By accident, I only replied to the one person who answered me, but I can report that the LightScribe problem is solved, and without the use of WINE. If anyone wants to know, please ask and I will post that solution. However. I don't believe that there is a simple solution to AdobeR...

nut on pclos-2010.7
Greetings people; The section of drakeconf that pclos uses has two problems. First is several screens full of complaints about deprecated syntax in "/etc/udev/rules.d/70-nut-usbups.rules" at each reboot. So I pulled the current 2.5 svn trunk, then found I was missing quite a few build tools needed here that aren't used when building a...

4.10.2 not connecting to (old) NAS
Thank you Rowland - adding "ntlm auth = yes" in the global section and rebooting the machine has provided access once again to the NAS. In answer to your questions - the smb.conf was from the PCLOS machine.  Question - I had tried sec=ntlm in the mount statement without it being in the smb.conf - did that not work because ntlmv1 had not been enabled? As to the question marks, that is something to do with the mail client (Thunderbird) - I do not see the question marks when composing the m...

Linux distros
Is there any particular distro that seems to be most used among RoR developers on Linux? Any that might provide better support somehow for development of RoR apps? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

4.10.2 not connecting to (old) NAS
...t; ?????? browseable = yes > ?????? public = yes > ?????? writable = yes > [Extradasd] > ?????? path = /mnt/extradasd > ?????? comment = Additional storage > ?????? browseable = yes > ?????? public = yes > ?????? writable = yes > Is the above from the NAS or the PCLOS computer ? As it refers to printers, I think it is most likely from the PCLOS. I think what is going on here is that your NAS is expecting NTLMv1 and your new Samba 4.10.2 now has this turned off by default. Try adding 'ntlm auth = yes' to the smb.conf Rowland PS What's with all the...

Re: Help, please-- Ubuntu 8.04
I tried to install the same game and got this error message: [Image: http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff188/Inanimatus/winerror.png ] I am using PCLOS fully updated with Wine 1.0.1. I tried googling it, but couldn't find anything useful.

Does Wine support the NVIDIA 7186 drivers?
A query regarding WINE support for older hardware: Does Wine support the NVIDIA 7186 drivers, or are they too old and unsupported now? Following on from this post - http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=7509 and http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=6574&highlight=rome+total+war I've been playing around a bit. I've tried without installing DX9 as well as using Winetricks to

...tion. (I had that, but Centos didn't work so I eliminated it.) * I downloaded a number of tries and burned each to DVD, (one appeared to be defective) but none of them worked. It would help, perhaps, if the downloads included a verification. I really want an RPM system with kde, and I used PCLOS for years, but the latest version is a great disappointment, and the last upgrade crashed the machine, which is why I, having tried their April release, I am coming to CentOS--or trying to. I don't know what information I can provide, but the bare-bones of the system are this: MOBO: Foxxc...

Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
A long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone has managed to install IntelliType Pro 7.0 under Wine, which contains software for Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000. I'm guessing not, since it's not listed, but really hoping someone can help. Thank you.

Idea to cut down on Distro list
...us cutting down on the distro list. As it stands every distro has an entry for all the different version. So when I select PCLinuxOS only the correlating version entered by users would appear in the second drop down menu e.g., 2010 and 2011.9 would appear because those are past releases entered by PCLOS users on Wine.

Re: winetricks ie6/ie7 on 64bit system
Although this question is very old, I thought I'd reply to the post since I had exactly the same issue with openSUSE 12.1 but have solved it. I couldn't find an answer anywhere else on the internet so this is to save other people spending time solving it like I just had to. In openSUSE, the bulk of the wine tools is contained in the 'wine' package and not the 'wine-32-bit'

WordPerfect--any version working?
Has anyone gotten any version of WordPerfect working in Wine? Please let me know, and if you have a version that works, could you let me have a copy? (I have WP X3, X4, and X5, and Wine 1.4.1, which I know is not the latest, but is the latest in the PCLOS repo.) When I tried recently, none would install. HELP! LibreOffice just doesn't cut it, and I could send you a file to prove it. --doug

Kingsoft Writer, etc.
Latest PCWorld mag had a nice writeup on Kingsoft Office software, which comes in 3 flavors, the lowest of which is free, so I d/l'ed it and installed it in Wine, version 1.4-1pclos2012--the latest version the pclos distro has. It seemed to install OK, but it won't open any file, and it won't open even a blank file so you could write on it. (Just looking at Writer, for the moment--have not looked at the Spreadsheet or the Presentations--don't know how to use...

drive letter problem, pclinuxos
Have just installed Wine, version wine.1.2-0.RC4.1pclos2010.i586,rpm. Also did the Wine Gecko install, manually, as was suggested by pclos, in accordance with the Wine Wiki page. All of this seems to work, and I can get the Notepad to work, and to print, so it sort of looks like Windows. But it seems to be installed on the E: drive--at least that's...

Vectorworks 2010 almost working
Hi all! I'm trying to get the cadprogram Vectorworks 2010 (VW) run with Wine. So far I have succeed in getting the program installed and to start up with a plain Wine installation in PClinuxOS 2010. To get the toolboxes and everything look normal I had to install GDI+ (gdiplus) via Winetricks. However the drawing area is still messed up after this even if the toolboxes look fine. On one

coreldraw 9 almost loads hangs at self regestration
I am using wine 1.3.28 loaded from the Ubuntu software link (GUI) no terminal loading. I installed Ubuntu 64 bit on January 9 latest version. When I try to load Coreldraw 9 from the setup exe. file on the CD located in the DVD burner the program starts up fine and almost completely loads. (I used Wine to start the setup) Then it gets to self Registration and stops at c:/programs
