NTFS patitions in CentOS
Hi,
I tried to mount NTFS partitions to my CentOS installation. The message
is: "mount: fs type ntfs not supported by kernel"
Is any possibility to mount it? Maybe I should load some kernel module?

Multiple Patitions with with mdbox
Having > 10 TByte mailstore filesystem-checks takes too much time.
At the moment we have four different partitions, but I don't like to set
symlinks or LDAP-flags to sort customers and their domains to there
individual mount-point. I'd like to work with mdbox:/mail/%d/%n to calculate
the path automatically.
How do you handle >> 10 TB mailstore?
I'm very interested in the

How is a isohybrid --partok image to be used ?
...rther i wonder how --partok does play with --gpt.
Afaik, there is no equivalent to VBR in GPT.
So can it be that GPT in the ISO image is useless if the image is
put into a partition ?
Does the installing user have to compute an own GPT entry from a
listing of the GPT in the image ? (Or from the MBR patition table
in the image.)
Have a nice day :)

domUloader kernel command line arguments?
domUloader potentially makes my life a lot easier, but from experiments
and looking at the code, it doesn''t seem like there is any way to pass
kernel command line arguments with it. Am I just missing something?
Thanks,
John Byrne

syslinux, raid 1, and metadata 1.2

layer which may leave you with two copies that are out of sync.
Now metadata 1.0 and 1.2 put the metadata at the beginning of the
partition. While metadata 1.0 pretty much makes booting impossible,
metadata 1.2 should work just fine. There's 4 kilobyte of free space
at the beginning of the patition, before the metadata.
As far as I understand, the code in the MBR loads the VBR (boot sector
of the partition) and passes the number of the first sector of the
partition to the VBR. Usually, the VBR would be the code installed by
syslinux in the first sector of the filesystem. It loads ldlinux....

Floor codebooks vs. Residue codebooks
Hi,
Please brace yourselves for some possibly stupid questions.
Why are there only 2 codebooks for floors and many more for residue values?
What makes the encoding of floor values fundamentally different from
encoding residue values?
I have a basic understanding of VQ, and looking at the floor decode
function, it all makes sense
1) Read the codebook index from the stream
2) Do a

How is a isohybrid --partok image to be used ?
Hi,
i am trying to document the MBR selection by isohybrid option --partok.
I assume it is related to "altmbr.bin" as described in
http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/Mbr
But there i read
"altmbr.bin [...] boots from a partition with fixed number, see below."
The "see below" probably refers to

Virus Question
Hi, the Wine program seems great. I run Eudora in WinXP, and this program
will enable me to run Eudora in Fedora 3 and use the same mailboxes via
Captive-NTFS - and so I will always have my email up-to-date.
I have one big concern: viruses. Is it possible for me to get infected
with a virus using Wine? If I got infected, how well could the virus
infect my system? Meaning, I plan to
