"Statistiques avec R"
Dear R users,
I want to share my joy with you. Please see the following
excellent introduction to R "Statistiques avec R " by
Vincent Zoonekynd
http://zoonek2.free.fr/UNIX/48_R/all.html
In paticular, you can see a lot of fascinating graphics
examples of R from which you can get many hints.
Soryy if this is already well-known, but the CRAN search
did not show nothing with the keyword "Zoonekynd".

sip.conf not paying attention to allow/disallow
...w=ulaw
Then I have a specific sip:
[RNK]
<clip>
disallow=all
allow=alaw
allow=ulaw
allow=gsm
If I do this:
exten => _9.,1,Dial(${EXTEN}@RNK,60)
The call still goes out as G729 even though I've told the RNK to disallow
g729. I need to be able to make other 729 calls but to this one paticular
group, they need to be 711.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matthew

File list Performance question
...there are tons of parameters and options in the
smb.conf file, many having to do with performance, but I could use a
pointer.
When the users try to open a file, the select file listbox in ANY
windows app is taking an eternity to populate. The transfer speed of
the files is fine, but is there a paticular way to speed up the
findfirst/findnext loop that populates the list?
Thanks!

cannot generate tempfile `/tmp/puppet.30616.9'
I have three (out of 90) machines with the error: cannot generate
tempfile `/tmp/puppet.30616.9''
I have plenty of disk and plenty of inodes.
My temp directory is permissioned: drwxrwxrwt 4 root root 20480
2012-05-24 01:33 /tmp
I get these for two puppet items on each row.
The daemon is not running. I run it manually using /usr/sbin/puppetd

Anybody ever managed to implement a solution where one could forward a

meta-analysis on diagnostic tests (bivariate approach)
...ician and Im not that good in statistics. I have posted similar
email in the epi-sig list but no one aswered so far. Im cunducting a
systematic review on two diagnostic test for a particular tropical disease.
I found a free software that make most of the analysis called MetaDiSc.
However there is a paticular analysis that I wuould like to try that it is
not implemented in this software. I looked in R for meta-analysis functions
but the packeges available dont work with diagnostic tests.
Im trying for a while to adapt in R a function develped in SAS and published

Time just moved backwards error even with ntpd
Scenario: server PC abruptly switched off due to power cable problems
(an UPS cannot solve this issue), so during shutdown Linux was not
able to resinchronize the system clock. After a few hours the server
come back on, Linux booted and the services (ntpd, dovecot and many
others) started
But the system clock was 45 minutes ahead, so:

SER Interaction: Agents and Extensions
...quot;in" to Asterisk from SER, how can I
differentiate one customer from another?
AFAIK, SER has no notion of 'context'. So, if offices wanted 4 digit
extensions, I would be unable to duplicate any extensions right?
Onto Agents; Say I setup *80 as the AgentLogin/Logoff number for a
paticular customer. SER passes it on to Asterisk. I'd still have to setup
contexts and agents just like normal right?
With all of these caveats, it seems to me that a SER->Asterisk solution
isn't that great. If anyone else out there can show me otherwise...

Yes, I understand that. I'm looking rather at letting paticular people
call the fax ine and pick up with asterisk, before the fax machine kicks
in. For the accounting stuff, I'm more interested in getting an idea of
line utilization (how many incoming faxes, and from where), rather then
being able to pinpoint someone sending junkfaxes.

Help needed on calculation of Moran's I
Hi,
I am trying to calculate Moran's I test for the residuals for a
regression equation, but I have trouble converting my coordinates into
nb format.
I have used the dnearneigh() funtion now with an arbitrarily high upper
distance to make it include all plots. However, when I do the
lm.morantest() I get a Moran's I value which is the same as the expected
value and a P-value of 1.

packet marking: only a ratio, not all
Hi all!
In short:
Anybody wrote a patch for DSMARK to make it capable of marking
only a ratio (a given arg to the tc command) of the packets it gets?
Say, 20%? Or, do I have to hack into the source? Alternatives,
like a filter spitting packets to 2 different DSMARK based on this ratio?
In long:

[LLVMdev] Please benchmark new x86 vector shuffle lowering, planning to make it the default very soon!
...39;vblendps' is redundant since the vmovss
would zero the upper bits in %xmm1. I am not sure why we get this
poor-codegen with your new shuffle lowering. I will investigate more
on this bug (maybe we no longer trigger some ISel patterns?) and I
will try to give you a small reproducible for this paticular case.
2. There are cases where we no longer fold a vector load in one of
the operands of a shuffle.
This is an example:
vmovaps 320(%rsp), %xmm0
vshufps $-27, %xmm0, %xmm0, %xmm0 # %xmm0 = %xmm0[1,1,2,3]
Before, we used to emit the following sequence:
# 16-byte Folded reload....

(slightly OT) syncing / migrating IMAP mailboxes
Hi!
I fear this may be slightly off-topic but it's both related to IMAP and to
dovecot:
Is there any good and in paticular realiable program for synching /
migrating one IMAP mailbox to another? The most important features for me
is that a) no mails are lost / left out silently and b) the porgram is
able to sync the complete mailbox including all folders without just
giving up in the middle of the transfer. If it...

revisit to legacy PBX and CID over PRI
My legacy PBX accepts CID number, but not name.
My old PRI vendor never sent the name, so there was never an issue.
I have wedged asterisk between the Legacy PBX and PSTN. PSTN - PRI - asterisk - PRI - Legacy.
Any calls from asterisk (sip and iax extensions) which have callerID set, will not connect.
The legacy PBX hangs up, but asterisk thinks that it is still ringing.

Problem with geterrmessage()
Luke
Thanks ? I revised the code to:
ERRORMESSAGE <- try(source(USERSCRIPTFILE, local=T), silent=T)
print(ERRORMESSAGE) now returns:
$value
[1] 0
$visible
[1] FALSE
Not clear what to make of that.

winbind rfc2307 mapping not "correct"
...ssible.)
There is a problem with samba using memberUid instead of member; on the
client windows machine the logged in user could possibly not be a
windows member of a group, and yet be a posix member of a group and thus
might not have access to files they otherwise should have access to.
In my paticular scenario I think that is a non-issue because:
i. I only have samba servers, no Windows file servers, so at least all
my file servers will know the correct group information for everyone
ii. by extension of (i.) if access permissions are checked at the server
and not at the client, the logged in u...

it meets some criterion (cnum = number of clusters, e = current element, anum =
overall number of attempts): anum * i/cnum <= e < anum * (i+1)/cnum for the i-th

test. Then the percent of the paticular cluster size from the maximum size is
printed.
Maybe distribution tests don't have much sense in the test with unlimited number
of retries (2).
These tests show at least that the flow of fails is rather constant.
