Pathfinder Office 2.70 install- Regedit case sensitive?
...cialized DOS software in our lab as well as recent stuff), we have decided to check out the possibility of going to Linux in our lab.
I've been testing Linux and Wine. So far, I've found Linux Fedora 10 to be the best for my old (2002 or so) laptop, and I've been trying to get Trimble Pathfinder Office 2.70 running with Wine (without luck).
For one thing, the installer works but doesn't properly edit the registry. I have to manually insert a number of lines that the installer doesn't- and I think there may be some more that need to be put in, but I can't find references to...

Blacklisted packages still logged
Hello,
Pardon me if this turns out to be stupid question.
I have an IP address blacklisted in /etc/shorewall/blacklist. I have
BLACKLIS_LOGLEVEL not set in /etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf, but I can still
see the packages coming from the blacklisted IP logged in /var/log/messages
when I do ''tail -f /var/log/messages''.
Is there someplace else I should check ?
Thanks.

Checking /proc/mdstat indicates that all the drives are active i.e. RAID is
not running in degraded mode.
So, is it that suddenly my drives are failing ?
Any comment or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

essentially, _falsifying_ the savings on Linux with it, is the absolute
#1 reason why Linux projects fail.
Having a background in defense, I liken this to NASA's COTS (commercial
off-the-shelf) adoption in the '90s. After Sojouner (Mars Pathfinder)
proved that GNU/VxWorks was a viable platform that cost 1/10th of
custom software/hardware development, NASA's nexgen probes started
adopting the same platforms/software as Pathfinder.
The problem on these other projects is that the 90% savings was no
longer applied to just software/hardware,...

Migrating from RHEL 4 to CentOS
Hello,
I'm thinking about migrating from RHEL 4 to CentOS. Is there a document that
provide pointer / guidance for doing that ? or is this document:
http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=19
relevant enough to follow in my situation ?
I understand that I should probably strip the install of any RedHat images,
trademark, etc, as to not infringing any copyright. So I am

compare / contrast of linux fw and others
Hi,
I was wondering how a linux box configured as a firewall stacked up
against some of the commercial products like checkpoint-1 and gauntlet.
Can someone direct me to a good book or online doc that compares linux
to some other firewall methods?
Mind you, I''m not talking about a firewall in the classical sense, ie
ip forwarding turned off and used as a proxy, but the typical Linux box

OT - Number Portability
Sorry for the off-topic, but perhaps this will be of interest to other
asterisk based ITSPs.
We are starting service in a rural area where the ILEC has the rural
"monopoly". From what we have read in the FCC docs this does NOT exempt
them from number portability, but what does it take for us to qualify to
receive their numbers? To date we simply have a few voice trunks to them,

[cfe-dev] Why is #pragma STDC FENV_ACCESS not supported?
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for reaching out about this, and thanks especially for offering to help. I've had some other priorities that have prevented me from making progress on this recently.
As far as I know, there is no support at all in clang for handling the FENV_ACCESS pragma. I have a sample patch somewhere that I created to demonstrate how the front end would create the constrained intrinsics
