Problems with wine/openSuse 10.2/Papyrus 12.56
Hi all, I have recently changed from Suse 10.0 to openSuse 10.2 on my desktop PC, and I am having problems running the latest version of Papyrus (12.56) a Windows word-processor. I can run an older version of Papyrus without any trouble. On the same machine I can also boot into my Suse 10.0 setup and Papyrus 12.56 runs fine in that. Both 10.0 and 10.2 are using the lastest wine version - 0.9.32-12.1. I have also tried an older version o...

Some strange window bahviour with Papyrus in wine
Hello (I hope this is the correct group for this post - if not I am sure you will tell me where to go :-)) ) I use wine 0.9.23-12.1 in Suse 10.1 on my laptop to run Papyrus (a word processor originally written for the Atari platform and now available for Windows). I have been very pleased with recent versions of wine as it seems now to be working almost perfectly for Papyrus :-) However, I have noticed in these two more recent versions that if I select "allow t...

pdf-printer
Hi, I recently migrated from samba3 to samba4. On the samba3 server I had a "printer" that converted pcl6 to pdf. I tried to make a similar printer in samba4, but it's not working. Not working means the printed document is nowhere to be found. This is the section in smb.conf : [papyrusPDF] comment = Papyrus-to-PDF printer path = /var/spool/samba # guest ok = Yes printable = Yes # printing = lprng # print command = /usr/bin/pcl2pdf %s %u %H "%J" print command = /usr/bin/pcl2pdf /var/spool/samba/%s %u %H "%J" # lpq command = lpq -...

Wine 0.9.40
Wow, WINE has come so far that I feel (am) old! :) With SafeDisc support, WINE will finally run a LOT of games, too. Currently, I run Papyrus' NASCAR Racing 2002, Payrus' NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition, Novalogic's F-22 Lightning 3 (w/o hardware acceleration), Novalogic's Comanche 4 and various other applications with minimals difficulty. Keep up the great work! It's been a LONG road for sure, but a worthy one. _____...

Hi, I have a problem with GRE tunneling. I read Advanced-Routing HOWTO about this and I did all as is written in this documentation. Even the same example is here which I need for my project. I want create (by means of GRE tunneling or IP in IP tunneling) virtual private network VPN - in first phase without IPsec in other phase with IPsec. I have two local networks distant apart with two routers.

Ogg Traffic for Wednesday, December 12, 2001

Ogg In Games Brian Hook (of id software fame) and his new company [20]just released their first game, [21]Candy Cruncher, which uses Ogg for sound. Also, Papyrus Racing Games are using Ogg in their current racing title, NASCAR Racing 2002. They had this to say about their decision and experience: <p> "We're using a lot of spoken audio in this title (a first for us) and your codec has allowed us to reduce more than 350MB of audio d...

Best 1.5TB drives for consumer RAID?
Which consumer-priced 1.5TB drives do people currently recommend? I had zero read/write/checksum errors so far in 2 years with my trusty old Western Digital WD7500AAKS drives, but now I want to upgrade to a new set of drives that are big, reliable and cheap. As of Jan 2010 it seems the price sweet spot is the 1.5TB drives. As I had a lot of success with Western Digital drives I thought I would
