lighttpd + fastcgi + camping
...he wants (space permitting) without having to reconfigure lighttpd each time an application is added correct? Question: on the examples I can only find a camping fcgi dispatcher for apache. Do you have any dispatcher that would work on lighttpd or should I use a generic ruby dispatcher like http://pallas.telperion.info/ruby-cgi/ ? New Debian packages using /usr/share/R as well as /usr/lib/R
R always had all its files below /usr/lib/R, which isn't perfectly in line with the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard (FHS). We did get some bug reports on this, and I tried to argue for a while that this was consistent upstream behaviour etc pp I would expect the issue to come back again. Brian Ripley had made some changes to R a few months ago which allow to split doc/, include/ and share/ off

Can I "upgrade" a striped pool of vdevs to mirrored vdevs?
Hi, once I created a zpool of single vdevs not using mirroring of any kind. Now I wonder if it''s possible to add vdevs and mirror the currently existing ones. Thanks, budy -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

Some random rails, and maybe Ruby, questions..
Hi, I''m attempting to create a users statistics controller, and have saved up some questions regarding this for this post. So, please comment on any one of them, if not all :-) 1) Is there a library somewhere for doing stats? (e.g. mean, median, sd, skewness..) on an array in rails? 2) What library would you recommend for "publication ready" (i.e. not cheesy) histograms,

ZFS slows down over a couple of days
Hi all, I have exchanged my Dell R610 in favor of a Sun Fire 4170 M2 which has 32 GB RAM installed. I am running Sol11Expr on this host and I use it to primarily serve Netatalk AFP shares. From day one, I have noticed that the amount of free RAM decereased and along with that decrease the overall performance of ZFS decreased as well. Now, since I am still quite a Solaris newbie, I seem to

Running on Dell hardware?
I have a Dell R710 which has been flaky for some time. It crashes about once per week. I have literally replaced every piece of hardware in it, and reinstalled Sol 10u9 fresh and clean. I am wondering if other people out there are using Dell hardware, with what degree of success, and in what configuration? The failure seems to be related to the perc 6i. For some period around the time

Hallo friend of Samba in addition to the problem of Doug Jolley I recognized, that samba is very, very, very slow if MS-Access tries to access another MS_Access Database on the Linux Box, powerd with Samba. Normally I have tranfers between 3.500 and 4.500 kbytes/sec (writing) and 2.500 to 3.500 kbytes/sec (reading)! THe Client is a Athlon K7/1000 with 256MB and a 3C905 NIC running Win2K. The

tinc + OpenSSL
Hello, I just want to ask if it has been considered to use OpenSSL for the encryption stuff. I guess they've spent quite some time on the subject and have the cipher routines both debugged and optimized. I know that some of the current cipher code was taken from SSLeay but since OpenSSL is de facto SSLeay successor, it might give tinc more flexibility and allow the user to choose
