...rd, however it fails on trying to finish the process. I can see
this PC in network neighborhood as "penguin" its name , but get an access
denied.
I did not have this access problem until I had to reboot the windows PC.
I have the following entries in my lmhosts file:
192.168.0.1 p111 #P111 office
192.168.0.2 loft #Loft pc
192.168.0.5 penguin #Linux pc
192.168.0.3 notebook #notebook
Notebook is not connected, Loft is another linux PC and is accessible without
problem, P111 is the NT PC , and penguin is the problem.

Which version of Ruby for Rails 2.0.2?
I''m using ruby 1.8.6 p111. But some people seem to think that version
1.8.5 is better. Should I give it a whirl?

Bizarre IE 7 error - res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff.htm
Hi all,
Ruby 1.8.6-p111
Rails 1.2.6
Windows XP Pro
IE 7
Posting this for posterity''s sake, and to see if anyone else hit this
issue.
I sporadically hit a strange error in IE7 when I hit a submit button
on a form within a Rails app.

AR object return nil on save
...dataset, changing only
Rails to 2.1.2 r.save returns nil, object does not get saved, nothing
in log file. Using save! raises no exception.
r.errors.full_messages
=> []
Any idea what is going on? I guess something rather strange, since
save should not return nil?
I''m using ruby 1.8.6-p111 on Windows, Rails 2.1.2. Tomorrow I will try
to run it on some Linux with newer Ruby.
I did remove all plugins - no change. Commented out all Reservation
model''s validations, functions, etc. No change.
What else I can try?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
This is a basic install of Ruby 1.8.6-p111, along with rubygem-1.0.1.
Nothing else installed, no gems.
I thought I''d solved all of the hard problems actually getting Ruby to
run!

Possible bug when creating a Ferret::Search::Sort object?
I may have run across a bug in Ferret: if throws a segmentation fault
when I try to create a Sort object using the default fields (SCORE and
DOC_ID), but setting reverse to true.
Here''s the minimal example:
#!/usr/bin/env ruby
require ''rubygems''
require ''ferret''
Ferret::Search::Sort.new
Ferret::Search::Sort.new(

fastthread no longer needed?
I''m confused. Wasn''t threading fixed in 1.8.6, negating the need for
fastthread? Why is fastthread still a requirement of Mongrel? Just
curious. :)

deployment survey
Hello Mongrels,
Building on the last messages about Fastthread, can we get a detailed
survey of the different ways people are deploying their applications?
It will help with near-future Mongrel development.
Please include the following things:
* Framework, if any (Camping, Merb, Rails, Nitro, Ramaze, IOWA, Rack...)
* Mongrel version
* Mongrel handlers used (rails, dirhandler, camping,
