Help with upgrading 7960 SCCP to SIP
I've got a Cisco 7960 that I'm trying to convert to SIP. Here's what "Firmware Versions" says: App Load ID: P00305000300 Boot Load ID: PC03M030 Version: 5.0(3.0) The files that I have are: P003-07-1-00.sbn P003-07-1-00.bin P0S3-07-1-00.loads P0S3-07-1-00.sb2 If I put "P003-07-1-00" in OS79XX.TXT, the phone tries to tftp XMLDefault.cnf.xml. I've tried every imaginable <loadinformation> parameter, and can't get the phone to actually grab the image, it just keeps redownloading the XML file. If I...

Cisco 7960 + SIP
...llo all, I know this isn't strictly Asterisk, but I'm sure that there are more people here using the Cisco 7960 w/ SIP, so I thought I'd post here. I've just bought a Cisco 7960 phone to use with Asterisk. It came with the CallManager image on it. I've got the 4.4 SIP images (P0S3-04-4-00). If I put "P0S3-04-4-00" in the OS79XX.TXT file, the phone downloads this fine (watching TFTP server debug). It then proceeds to request P0S3-04-.bin. I don't know why. Naturally this file isn't found. I tried renaming the file to P0S3-04-.bin. The phone then downloads...

Hi all, i have a problem with some cisco 7960. Yesterday i did a firmware-upgrade from 3.1 (1.2) with P0S30203.bin as described in the most documents. Now i get the message Phone unprovisioned and in TFTP-Log i find the following line: 07.03.2005 19:58 :Timeout error sending P0S3-07-3-00.bin to 192.168.0.83, 0 bytes So i think it now wants to load the file P0S3-07-3-00.bin. Cisco 7.2 firmware for SIP 7940/7960 release d
...their ftp-server and downloaded it :-) But, I can't make my phone (7940) upgrade, so maybe you can give me a hint. I added the files to my tftpd folder, changed the version-number in the file OS79XX.TXT - from P003-07-1-00 to P003-07-2-00 In my SIPDefault.cnf i changed the image_version from P0S3-07-1-00 to image_version: P0S3-07-2-00 Then I reboot it, and it loads the SIP<MAC address>.cnf - and reboots - and this goes on forever, or until i change the image_version number back to P0S3-07-1-00. What am i doing wrong - I just can't figure it out. Best regards Michael On Tue,...

Cisco 7940 -60 firmware upgrades
This for the archives in case it may help someone: I was able to upgrade two Cisco 7940's from firmware P0030301MFG2 to SIP 7.1 as follows: 1. Installed 7.1 images from the Cisco zip file to the TFTP server. 2. Specified "image_version: P0S3-07-1-00" in SIP<MAC>.cnf and SIPDefault.cnf 3. For the older of the two phones, renamed P003-07-1-00.bin to P0S3-07-.bin, making it an 8.3 filename as expected by the version 3 firmware. For the later (apparently new enough to handle long filenames), renamed it to P0S3-07-1-00.bin. No...

Hi, I have been trying to get my 7960 & 7960G to register with two seperate * servers. Cisco 7960 upgrade from SKINNY load
...e with skinny software (2) Longer problem description (what happens): If the phone is loaded with the Cisco Skinny code, then there is a small problem with loading SIP images that are over 4K in size. This is caused by the Skinny code having a 4K tftp buffer. So if you look at the latest images P0S3-04-1-00.bin is 449K in size, if you try and load this file the tftpboot will hang when the buffer is full. At present there is NO error message and you have to look at a sniffer trace to see the error message. (3) Possible solution (what did you expect): Information in the documentation on how...

Cisco 7960 upgrades
...with no luck. It goes to Upgrading Software and sits there endlessly redownloading the same file. It seems to stall going no-where .. Any one successfully upgraded the phones from default? What are any of the specifics. With the 5x series do I need the P003-05 in the OS79XX.TXT file or still the P0S3 ? Anyone have any ideas as to what I should do? I can't seem to get the pre 5x versions of the software any more. Seems with my contract I can only downgrade to 5x series. All that shows on the Cisco CCO site. Please let me know Thanks Sascha -------------- next part -----------...

Upgrade cisco SIP phone 7940
Hi All, My current 7940 phones use P0S3-06-3-00. I'd like to upgrade them so they're not massively out of date. I found a page at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+phone+cisco+79xx that gives some info, and using the cisco links there have tried to upgrade. According to the procedures, I should be able to upgrade, but...
