The Team is In Place
Hello Everyone, I''d like to just officially announce that the new volunteers are in charge and given control of the project. I won''t be doing anything more than helping them get ramped up, but they''ll be in charge of doing all the stuff you folks want and are basically the owners from now on. Everyone in the new volunteer list will probably do a little announce, but

Status 58 trying to connect WinCE 4.1 to Samba 3.0.23c-2.el5.2
Hello everyone. I've recently replaced a file server running Samba 2.2.8a on Solaris 8 with one running 3.0.23c-2.el5.2 on CentOS 5. I'm trying to set up a WinCE 4.1 device (A V56 Makino milling center with a Pro 5 controller) to work with the new configuration and I can't get it figured out. When I try to do a 'net use share1 \\server\share', it responds with 'Command

Updating LLVM/Clang support for VS for VS2017
CCing Zach, who did a lot of the VS 2017 support work (AFAIK), and Reid, who's the general Microsoft support overlord. By full support for VS 2017, do you mean within the IDE itself? I haven't ever used clang from within the VS IDE, so I can't speak to that. All non-IDE stuff should work though, as far as I know. Which compiler options/switches specifically are missing? Winbind and groups
Hello Friendly Samba People, I have a working samba install that allows my AD users access to files on my linux box. The linux box is configured via Winbind as a domain member and uses Winbind as the local NSS. I can successfully resolve both users and groups from the AD. Users are currently able to access the samba shares without trouble. I am running into trouble when trying to use groups

Clang project renamed
Hi everyone, There are a number of issues with the current name of the Clang project: * It is prone to incorrect type setting, typically as CLang, CLANG, or most commonly c̦҉̫̘̺̹̖̗͒͆͋̈̃̇߯l߲҉̷̡̰̖͈̤̺͒҆̾̚͡͝a̺̹͍̔߭͠ͅn͋́͡g̱߫̉ * The C++ compiler ends in the string "g++", which causes problems for compiler wrapper scripts * The name has been used by a kickstarter project

The future of centos
In the context of this discussion I would appreciate any feedback the list might have on this article I wrote for my new company. http://otternetworks.de/tech/rhel-centos-brief/ I for one welcome our Redhat overlords. I think they will provide better governance which should give Centos better credibility as an Enterprise, community supported operating system. tcltk, tclRequire and Tktable help
I know almost nothing about the tcltk library, and the documentation seems very poor. What's the meaning of this error, and is there any way to fix it? I'm running R 2.4.1 in a Windows XP machine where I have almost no privileges (but at home I am the Evil Overlord of a Linux machine...) library(tcltk) tclRequire("Tktable") # [1] FALSE # Warning message: # Tcl package

I have an example where i plot an image and load it dynamically in an image analysis tool to create a film (dynamic graph). This works well under Windows but i can't plot to *.png or *.jpeg files under Linux (Ubuntu) with the same command. [RFC]: OpenSSH vpn lists
I've got an idea for using OpenSSH to establish a sort of internal secure network, where everything going back and forth between certain services (i.e. MySQL, how horrid) is encrypted even if the application/server doesn't support launching the service over SSL. This has some issues; so I'm probing for ideas on a new feature that would resolve them and make this easier. Let's
