Re: [PATCH 6/6] customize: add basic subscription-manager operations

I can't say that I'm overjoyed by the new config file format that we need here. Is it not possible to encode the configuration settings into --sm-* parameters? Re: Splitting the large libguestfs repo
...en become a build dep of the tools. This isn't particularly nice because (as you say) it's a big mix of miscellaneous "stuff", essentially a core library of missing C and OCaml functionality that we happened to need. So therefore not useful as an independent library. I'm not overjoyed by git submodules, but in this particular instance I think it can make sense, and there's only one of them (at the moment, we could change that). [nbdkit PATCH 0/3] Fix data integrity in vddk plugin
Couple of fixes to return correct data and one nice-to-have clean-up which is not needed. I just find it nicer to read. Re: [nbdkit PATCH 0/3] Fix data integrity in vddk plugin
I pushed 2 & 3, thanks. I'm not overjoyed about patch 1 however. It seems to me that this is solved better by having two NBD connections open, one with the single-link=true flag and one without, and then reading extents from one and data from the other. Admittedly his pushes the complexity to the client and prevents you using qemu-img, b...

Re: RedHat 5.X Security Book
I think it depends on wat you are using the book for..I myself have been trying for a long time to find a document that describes basic RedHat and Linux security, what to look for, inherent dangers etc etc. So I was overjoyed when I found this book. No, I am not depending on it as a sole source of information, but the basicis that it covers simply do not get repeatadly posted to the lists you mentioned, at least not that I have seen. I think it is a wonderful intro into system security, but it should be made clear tha...

EAC + FLAC bitrate question?
This is more of an EAC question, but I have not yet received an answer from my post on that page. Since they are closely related I thought I would give it a try here. I just bought a BIG stack of CDs (70+) and decided to recheck all of my EAC (beta 4) + FLAC (1.1.2) settings prior to ripping and encoding them. I also calibrated a new external Plextor CD-ROM too. The setting string I use in

Right, I'm not thrilled by git submodules either, and so far I have a bad experience with them. -- Pino Toscano

Custom Print Command
I'm trying to setup my public printers to do 4 pages per sheet, and am having nothing but problems making it work. The system is a Redhat 4.2 box running Samba 1.9.18p4, and the printers are postscript capable HP 4000 and 8000 machines. Using Redhat's printtool to set 4 page per sheet output works when printing via lpr, but as soon as I print from a Win95 box through samba, it's

cd drive not found
By reading messages on this list, I think that I have figured out that in gnome, you should be able to find directories like media/floppy jerry@linux-8ldg:/media> dir total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 2006-08-18 20:18 floppy Since the only sub directory I have in the media directory is floppy, does this mean that I have not configured the computer correctly? I cannot get to the cd drive

Hardphone deployment recommendation
I'm looking to purchase and deploy a bunch of hardphones for agent use. The phones will have to register with Asterisk and/or SER, depending on where the phones go. They need only one line, G729 codec, and no super fancy features. Preferrably something that is easy to provision. I would think the BudgeTone would be good, but then I've read so many people complaining about them, and some

Wine and Windows 2000
I had the latest wine running under winblows 98 SE for a week or two with no problems, then I installed winblows 2000 and now I cannot get wine to work. It is important for me to get it running again since I run United Devices cancer research agent (http://members.ud.com) 24/7 to help them find a cure for cancer. Is wine compatible with Win2k, or will I need to re-install 98 again? -- Interested

[PATCH 0/6] RFC: basic subscription-manager support in virt-customize
Hi, this series introduces a basic support for registering/attaching/unregistering RHEL guests using subscription-manager, so it is possible to do for example: $ cat <<EOF > sm.conf [general] username=user password=pass [attach-0] pool=ID EOF $ virt-customize -a rhel-guest.qcow2 \ --sm-config sm.conf --sm-register --sm-attach 0 \ --install pkg1 --install pkg2

Splitting the large libguestfs repo
I got a little way into this. The two attached patches are preliminary work. My proposed split is: libguestfs.git common -> git submodule libguestfs-common.git generator/ lib/ all language bindings C based tools (eg. virt-df, virt-edit, guestfish) guestfs-tools.git common -> git submodule libguestfs-common.git
