Re: Need AMD debugging help
Great call, Jason. The trouble may also be from overclocking their CPU's. We ran into some similar bug reports in the Furthur project with people swearing up and down that random application hangs and glitches was our software (which in part it was). However, as soon as they brought their CPU's and video cards back to spec, their problems magically went away. I would follow this one up

Asterisk overheating on VIA Epia MSeriesmoth erboard
Is that a bios setting (I don't recall seeing it) or an OS setting? I run a lot of Via C3 machines (they are so nifty) but don't remember seeing this. -----Original Message----- From: Technical Support [mailto:support@ocg.ca] Sent: Tuesday, September 06, 2005 10:43 AM To: 'Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion'; shmaltz@gmail.com Subject: RE: [Asterisk-Users]

Asterisk overheating on VIA Epia M Series motherboard
...rd in system). Strangely I also have the same system also running SUSE Linux running as a file server and that does not run so hot and does not overheat? Why the difference? Just booting up both systems for 15 minutes you can tell the Asterisk box is quite a bit hotter. Also the Asterisk box overheated (well think that was the problem) and stopped operating as PBX at one stage. Anyone any experience of this sort of thing? any ideas how to fix - ideally I don't want to have to fit a fan. Is SUSE not the best distro to use for this sort of thing? Should it be something to take up with VI...

Asterisk overheating on VIA Epia MSeriesmotherboard
I use them with just the one NIC card. I don't use them as a router so the phones and my gateway are all on the same network. -Jonathan -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Remco Barende Sent: Tuesday, September 06, 2005 4:33 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion

Powerful PC to run R
Dear all, I'm currently running R on my laptop -- a Lenovo Thinkpad X201 (Intel Core i7 CPU, M620, 2.67 Ghz, 8 GB RAM). The problem is that some of my calculations run for several days sometimes even weeks (mainly simulations over a large parameter space). Depending on the external conditions, my laptop sometimes shuts down due to overheating. I'm now thinking about buying a more

Overheating on laptop as compared to RHEL
Hi, I have an acer 5738g laptop on which i tried out the centos6.4 live CD. The laptop feels noticable hotter and i check the temperature using something like cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/. The temperatures are around 57-60 degrees when the laptop is just idling, ie, just the desktop and the terminal window open. I install lm_sensors using yum and it installs successfully, but there is no

Hmmm... Weird results with HTB in kernel 2.6.11
Hi all, I have been getting some strange results with HTB in kernel 2.6.11, and was wondering if anybody could give me some advice. Also, if someone could direct me to the changelog for the recent versions so I can see if it is worth upgrading? Anyway, the problem can best be summed up by looking at the output of ''tc -s -d class show dev eth0''. Some of the relevant results

Need AMD debugging help
To all who have an AMD + Windows based PC: I have gotten a few similar bug reports about encoding errors with FLAC. The common features are: - Repeatedly encoding the same file with verify will have verify errors some of the time (looks like aroung 50%) and the verify errors will occur in different places each time. - This is happening on AMD PCs running Windows. More reports come from

[LLVMdev] [llvm-testresults] bwilson__llvm-gcc_PROD__i386 nightly tester results
Hi Bob, >> A big compile time regression. Any ideas? >> >> Ciao, Duncan. > > False alarm. For some reason that I have not yet been able to figure out, these tests run significantly more slowly when I run them during the daytime, which I did for that run. I checked a few of the worst regressions reported here and they all recovered in subsequent runs. here is a crazy

[LLVMdev] LLVM on OpenBSD
...ou mean you used your bsd-ports-provided gcc to compile LLVM and you've got 4 times a bus-error during the build? In this case, it cannot be a LLVM problem. In the linux-community, people say that bus-error's are almost always because of faulty hardware, e.g. problem with DRAM timing, overheated CPU, power-supply that cannot provide enought power during current surges, things like that.

compile optimization error in libvorbis-1.0
Wow, I've never seen an FSF gcc crap out like this on a non-overheating system. When lib/envelope.c is compiled with -march=i686, gcc gets a signal 11, but not with -march=i586. I'm not sure whether to blame gcc or libvorbis. There are apparently three other files in libvorbis where this same behavior is seen. jeffrey@diddl:/usr/src/build/libvorbis-1.0/lib$ gcc

Server reboots unexpectebly.
Dear group, I am in the process of configuring 2 new servers. They are running Centos 5.5 and for the last three days they have been rebooting unexpectedly, can you point me in the right direction what to look for in the logs. I have been checking /var/log/messages but don't see anything that hint me any clues why this is happening. Your input is much much appreciated. Lisandro PS. These are

Bejeweled 2 & Wine
I am trying to install Bejeweled 2 on Ubuntu 10.10 and im having problems. I am a novice Linux user with some experience, not so much with wine. I have tried using v 1.2.2 and also 1.3.7. as there was a working test report in the database using the latter. Here is the error I am getting in terminal after running the exe with wine 1.3.7 err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 1336 bytes in

Upssched 100% CPU
Thanks for the tip. I had downloaded a prerelease source version of NUT 2.8.1, built and installed it. Evidently there was an issue with upssched consuming 100% CPU. I downloaded the current release and the issue has been resolved. Updating all 3 systems.
