Splitting 'expand' into 'split' and `expand`.
...dition should expand. It sees that there is a 16-bit register class, and it sees that 16-bit values are legal. As 16-bit is legal, it does not try and expand into a smaller type (8-bit). This causes instruction selection to fail. I can see why you’d want ExpandLibCall to be a separate action. Our overhanging problem is that the legalizer only gives very coarse-grained control over the way it legalizes values. On Thu, Aug 13, 2015 at 2:14 PM, Matt Arsenault <arsenm2 at gmail.com> wrote: > > On Aug 12, 2015, at 10:25 AM, Dylan McKay via llvm-dev < > llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wr...

Tyan Thunder K8SE S2892 Report
I had my eye on the Tyan dual-Opteron mobos for awhile. I tried to find a posting *anywhere* sharing experiences with these boards under Linux. No such luck. So placing myself under the heading "Where Angles Fear to Tread," I went ahead and built a system anyway. Here's what I've learned. The specs: Tyan Thunder K8SE S2892, BIOS 1.01 2x Opteron 270, 2Ghz Dual-Core, retail

Linux editor for R+LaTeX, but not Emacs
Using Tinn-R (in windows) is possible to run latex and R from the same editor, which was great. Now, I am using Ubuntu-linux, which has been better than WinXP. Currently, I am using Emacs (and then install ESS) for running LaTeX and R from a same editor-program (like i was doing with Tinn-R in windows). Nevertheless, and even though i have been using Emacs for almost 2 years, it is not as

Splitting 'expand' into 'split' and `expand`.
Hello all, I would like to propose a large change to LLVM that I would be happy to implement. The instruction selection legalizer knows of three different ways to legalize an action (ignoring an already legal action). - Expansion - Promotion - Custom Expanding a node will lead to one of two things - the operation will be split into several equivalent smaller operations (i.e. 64-bit

[OT] Memory Models and Multi/Virtual-Cores -- WAS: 4.0 -> 4.1 update failing
From: Maciej ?enczykowski <maze at cela.pl> > That's a good point - does anyone know what the new Intel > Virtualization thingamajig in the new dual core pentium D's is about? It's all speculation at this point. But there are _several_ factors. But I'm sure the first time Intel saw AMD's x86-64/PAE52 presentation, the same thing popped into my mind that popped
