LoopStrengthReduce Code Owner: nominating Quentin
I’d like to nominate Quentin Colombet as LSR code owner. He has handled most of the reviews for me for the past couple years (thanks Quentin), and is willing to take on the responsiblity. Frankly, turning over ownership to Quentin is overdue. -Andy

ext2 problem
Hello all, I know this question is (strictly speaking) off topic, but if someone could at least point me in the right direction, I would be most grateful. I have an older system (RH 6.2, overdue for upgrade) with an ext2 partition that was pushing 99% filled. I did some space recovery and I have it down to around 90% utilization now. I have rebooted the unit, and brought it up single-user and also booted it under a "Tom's rootboot" disk, and e2fsck reports that the par...

Overdue upgrade of bind
I am **FINALLY** starting in on upgrading my domain server. Right now it is still on bind-9.3.6 via Centos 5.5. Stepping right up to 9.8.2 in Centos 6.3. I am pretty good with zone files and the like, though I will finally get to tackle DNSSEC (and I can go to the sources Austien, Vixie, and Liu if need be or even the bind list!), but right now I have much more mundane issues. ETA
Dear developers, I don't care for reasons, arguments, or flamefests. I need to plan my workload. By now I have half a dozen servers overdue for reimaging. I can put this off for another week or two, but not really much longer. There's obviously no point in installing centos 5 on any new machine. So I need to know: is there any point in my waiting another week, or should I just say 'screw it' and start scheduling SL roll-o...

[RFC] design doc for straight-line scalar optimizations
...zations has some detailed docs instead of just source code to refer to. 2) RFC on how to improve these optimizations so that other targets can benefit from them as well. They are currently mostly restricted to the NVPTX backend, but I see many potentials to generalize them. So, I started from this overdue design doc <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1momWzKFf4D6h8H3YlfgKQ3qeZy5ayvMRh6yR-Xn2hUE/edit?usp=sharing> on the straight-line scalar optimizations. I will send out more docs on other optimizations later. Please feel free to comment. Thanks, Jingyue -------------- next part -------------...

How to determine 64 vs 32 bit processor
I have been tied up with other work and Holidays. Now back to some server work that is long overdue. I lost an old server yesterday so it is crunch time. I believe my new platform is suppose to be an x86_64. The order form says 64 bit. I booted Centos 6.3 i386 liveCD to check the system out before an install. uname -i reports i386 dmidecode -t processor reports Characteristics of 64 bit...

Running a DNS signed zone on Centos 5.5
My DNS server has been running Centos for some time. I am in the process of upgrading it to Centos 5.5 (long overdue, I know). Since we now have .com signed I want to get my domain signed as well, but I see that Centos 5.5 is running BIND 9.3.6 and a thread on the BIND list recommends against running a DNSSEC master zone on anything less than 9.6 and you really should be on 9.7. The thread DOES mention that...

Polycom UC 4.x Unreachable
Hello, We've had dozens of Polycom 3.x firmware phones deployed and working great for years. Now I've finally been charged with the long-overdue task of figuring out why newer Polycom devices with 4.x firmware register fine but do not respond to SIP OPTIONS request and therefore always become UNREACHABLE if the sip qualify setting is set to yes. To my dismay, searches for solutions from others who have encountered this problem have given z...

XCP community call
Hi all, The next XCP community call is somewhat overdue, and many things have happened in the intervening time. In particular, Stephen Spector has sadly (for us) moved on to new projects, so we currently don''t have a community manager to organise such things as these calls. Until we get someone (or two!) to fill Stephens role, I''ll tem...

status of https://wiki.centos.org/Documentation
...ts coming from uptream documentation >> ( - except for subscription manager - ) can be applied to CentOS and so >> having link from that section to >> https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/ >> >> Ideas, thoughts, comments ? >> > +1 for that. it's long overdue. -1 from me, because access.redhat.com documentation contains support statements which are irrelevant to the CentOS project. I'd very much like to avoid generating (more) confusion in potential users. Fran?ois

Aptana Radrails M7 Beta - Best Way to Upgrade
Hi Just upgraded smoothly to long overdue Aptana M7 Beta which was released on 25/9/2007. FYI, the best way to upgrade from July''s M5 (M6 was skipped) is as follows :- 1) Click Help/Software Upgrades/Finad and Install 2) Manually adding the following update site to the update manager: http://update.aptana.com/update/rails/beta...

...s/overheating/poor-CPU-seating/DIMM-seating/faulty-motherboard/faulty-CPU/faulty-DIMM. Well. overheating is possible... we don't live in the cleanest possible house, AND we have cats. so, in general I open up this box twice a year and vacuum out the house dirt and cat fuzzies. I'm probably overdue for this task. This is the first one of these I've had. Hope it's the last. but a little PM is in order either way. thanks for the reply. ogg player for mac
Hi Does anyone know of an ogg player for the mac (os 9) that actually works with icecast. I've tried audion, macamp, unsanity echo, and mint with no results whatsoever. They all play ogg files from disk, and all grab an mp3 stream from icecast, but as soon as I try streaming ogg they all fail to regonise it. (except for audion, which for some reason plays the stream as twice the speed?)

[LLVMdev] LLVM IR Type System Rewrite

This is definitely long overdue... Proposal seems very reasonable to me, I think the linker logic will become much nicer overall by making things more explicit. Strictly speaking, does this need to be a 3.0 feature? I haven't thought about it, and don't know that part of the code particularly well, but is the idea it wo...

upgrade 4.0.6 to 4.3.8
Hello samba users- I've got a long overdue update to my domain controllers. Currently my domain controllers are running samba 4.0.6 on Ubuntu 12.04. I would like to upgrade to 4.3.8. I've read through the update page (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Updating_Samba) and it seems to be pretty straightforward. Are there any other sugge...

Bounty offer
...n issue our users have is with voice detection. Speaking with Mumble's community they informed me Now, one of the most twitchy aspects of the audio tuning is voice activity detection for voice-activated transmission. For this we're relying on speex, and fixing speex' VAD has been a long-overdue issue. If you want to offer a bounty for that, it would probably be better directed at the Speex forums though. A good, long-term, high-precision VAD would also allow us to auto-tune the AGC maximum and minimum levels automatically, at which point much of the need for the audio wizard is gone. We&...
