Opus 1.5.2 low hum in input file results overblown output at decoding
There was a post in the Opus subthread on HA where there was a link to the file called Opus-tools-0.2-34-g98f3ddc_(using_libopus_1.5.2-21-gff6dea5)_Win_GCC142.7z. That's the one I'm currently using. First, I used GoldWave to convert your input file from ?-law to PCM and saved it as a ".wav" file. Next, I encoded it with Opusenc, I decoded its result with Opusdec with the

Opus 1.5.2 low hum in input file results overblown output at decoding
I posted this issue on github Issues back in December, but not sure if that is actively monitored so I thought I should point it out here. I have a sample file with a very low hum that I'm encoding/decoding from Opus. After a short time, the low hum gets amplified well past the point of clipping, sort of like an out of control automatic gain control. Any other audio in the input signal seems

known_hosts vulnerability?
Hey all, I came across a security news article, referenced by http://www.linux.org/news, at http://www.techworld.com/security/news/index.cfm?NewsID=3668 talking about an SSH weakness involving the known_hosts file. I apologize if this issue has already been addressed, but the mailing list archives didn't turn up anything when i tried searching for something relevant. So; not to knee-jerk or

Re: Fw: [Bugme-new] [Bug 5627] New: Network boot - IP-Config reports wrong DHCP server address
...sort of ready for that for > oh, about two years now. Thus far I'm very happy with it. I never originally intended to use klibc but I couldn't get the in-kernel DHCP code to work reliably in some cases and hacking it further didn't seem attractive at the time so I tried klibc. My overblown (contains sutff I don't need/use) initramfs image is a whopping great 95k --- an indication that klibc is a very powerful alternative and can also be quite small. It could be smaller but it hardly seems worth the effort given that the space is reclaimed via run-init's transition to the rea...

response to The r3mix review (fwd)
Yes, r3mix found a bug, no it's not a serious one. It's amazing how something small gets overblown like this. The r3mix reviewer basically just hit the known short block trigger bug when doing his tests. We've known about this bug since before the beta and haven't fixed it yet because it was considered relatively minor; [ironically] it mostly affects test samples with a single strong fr...

Spore fails to run on new Wine versions, plus fglrx issues
Hi, While running Spore (steam version) on 1.1.42 with a GeForce 8600GT on Arch Linux x86-64, everything worked fine except for occasional DxDllReg.exe crashes. I have since replaced the card with an ATi Radeon HD4800 and the user interface now unbearably flickers, garbles (inflated bits of text and other UI elements appearing randomly) and generally looks far from correct (to the point where I

VisualHostKey vs. RekeyLimit vs. VerifyHostKeyDNS
Hello list, I'm not sure whether this is bug worthy or just my own insanity. I'm using 6.4p1 packages from Debian jessie and wheezy-backports. I like VisualHostKey, although it may not add any protection (other than not trusting ones own known_hosts file?), I've become accustomed to it as it seems that extra neurons fire when I log into a host and get a visual cue of what looks like

Mailing list <-> forum gateway
Hi all, First off - this is not flame bait or a troll. It's a genuine question. Since the forum gateway was introduced, it is my opinion that this list is getting flooded with newbie questions. Check the "I just installed Ubuntu" thread for a typical example. I wish to silently remove all wine-forum posts and their replies from my inbox. I plan to filter based on From:

Program logic behind Ruby On Rails
Hi, I''m a newbie in both Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I finished the Ruby on Rail Tutorial on Todo list and it was great. But, now I''m trying to understand the logic behind it, that is something that is not obvious on how each one of them ties together. Is there a flowchart that shows how the inner working of Ruby on Rails? In another words, let''s suppose we consider the

Managing manifests
Hi, I was talking to Luke today about managing manifests and related files, and he suggested that I post to the list.. What would be nice (and what I''ve use in in-house systems I''ve used previously) is to have a way to dynamically include manifest fragments at runtime. Lets assume that you''re setting up bugzilla using puppet. In the ''main'' manifest
