[LLVMdev] [Patch] Adding unit tests to LLVM
.../headers pre-installed?

I already answered this question above (first option: in the tree). GTest
is under the BSD license, which is compatible with LLVM (though I am not a
copyright lawyer).

As soon as LLVM outgrows what GTest can do, we can easily write wrapper
macros to forward from GTest-style macros to the other, more suitable
framework; however, I think you're conflating the two concepts...

What Amazon EC2 AMI do you recommend?
...to expand to 10,000,000 if needed.
EC2 starts at $15/month (before bandwidth) which seems reasonable even
for a site in its infancy. And the costs seem to scale up well, along
with the capacity. There isn''t the huge step up from $10 to $200 that
most other options seem to have (when you outgrow shared and go
dedicated).
My basic needs are as follows:
- Ruby on Rails
- MySQL
- PHP (for some legacy stuff), with ImageMagick.
I''m not totally new to managing servers, but I guess would rather do
as little as I need to (better to spend my time coding).
With those requirements in mind...

Where did my DID's go??
Okay, first a little background - I've been with Packet8 since a month
after they started. I found that we were outgrowing their services
and decided to move to an asterisk box in the office. I found a
service provider that offered me a reasonable rate. After a fair
ammount of testing I decided to stick with their services and port my
3 primary DID's from Packet8 to the new service.
Well, I guess the porting...

Newbie Questions . . .
Hello all.
My company currently has an older Executone PBX system that we are outgrowing.
Rather than wait until the last minute to make a hasty decision, I thought it
would be a good idea to do some research and compare options first. My
expertise is in computers and networking, and telephony systems are mostly
foreign to me.
What we currently have are 5 incoming POTS lines...

[LLVMdev] [Patch] Adding unit tests to LLVM
..., or does user need
to have the libraries/headers pre-installed?
My question was not to cause a battle, but I wanted to be sure we were
using the right test kit, and not just picking one just because. For
example gtest is very light weight test kit, that can do the job, but
will the tests outgrow what the test kit can do, and cause a
conversion to a more advanced one later?

Growing beyond unsigned integer for the id field
I am creating an app that will out grow an int(10) unsigned for the id
field, ie. 4,294,967,295 records.
What are my options, I have looked at the GUID plugin that lets you use
a 32 char GUID, but I still want the id''s to be sequential, and (I
think) that the overhead of searching a varchar field will be too big
for such a large number of records.
It does not appear you can use a

Ruby on Rails and MS Access
How do I connect an existing or new Access database with Ruby on
Rails?
I am new to Ruby on Rails and a tutorial I am going through mentions
using MySQL but I don''t have MySQL and only work with MS Access.
Is MySQL available for free on the web? Thanks.

...design of the
intermediate representation. It is a strong design goal that the IR be a
self-contained virtual instruction set, which fully describes the program.
Because of this, we named the compiler LLVM, which reflects well on the
design of the IR.
However, the scope of the LLVM project is outgrowing this name. Today
LLVM does many "non-VMy" tasks, such as serving as a great static
compiler. It also has components that overlap with traditional low-level
tool chain components like assemblers and linkers. Further, LLVM's scope
is about to grow significantly with new front-...

I am not sure what advanced features you are thinking of that gtest doesn't
already offer; it's pretty sophisticated despite it's small size. Can you
give an example of something gtest doesn't...

backing up email / saving maildir on external hard drives
Hello,
Yesterday I tried to back up a 40GB maildir .
I tried to move the maildir from home to external HDD but failed. Decided
then to compress it(which took several hours). Now changing the disk format
from FAT to exFAT to allow the transfer for the large compressed file.
How does one back up emails on a external drive?
Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

A number of years back I thought to myself that computers and software
would soon become so complicated that they would outgrow the intellect
of their masters, and as a result software would start falling to
pieces.
If one looks at the low level of software quality these days, it is my
view that this has already started to happen.
The small programming teams, combined with the pressure placed on them
by greedy masters try...

I'd keep the data intact, back it up, and when you outgrow your hard
drive, just get a bigger one.
In other parts of this thread you ask how to separate backups from
different accounts from different computers. As far as accounts, I
think that Maildir directory structures would take care of that. As far

Running version 2.5 beta as a service
Hi and thanks for the replies.
Thomas, is the second option you mention an installation of the daemon necessary for running as a service?
I have already installed the icecast 2.4.99 from source using http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/icecast/icecast-2.5-beta2.tar.gz <http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/icecast/icecast-2.5-beta2.tar.gz> at icecast.org and have built it using …

There _are_ systems with hot-swap CPUs, memory and/or, PCI[-X] slots.
They are _not_ commodity and pricey, and require OS-level support.
In fact, I believe Linux 2.6 has some support for
