'check password script' timeout, diferences between AD and NT mode?
Here we use a (custom-made, internal) password propagation system, hooked around 'check password script'. Recently we suffer a network outgage (another one ;-), and the system that take care of password propagation goes offline. + NT domains continue to work, clearly password not propagate + AD domain stop to work (eg, users password change on windows stop to work), because the script timeout. Note that 'check password script...

Happy new year to all! Samba 4.9.17 on stretch, Louis package. On 22/12, at midnight, office closed, i suffered a network outgage that 'broke in two' my domain. On 23/12, at 14.00, network come back. DM and ''offline'' PAM (and NSS?)...
I'm using samba 4.5 on a debian jessie (Louis packages). Rarely it happen that a power outgage tear down all the stuff, here. I've noticed that if the DM start before the DC, clearly all account data are inaccessible. To prevent or minimize that, the ''offline mode'' of winbind can be safely used also on DM servers? Or is tailoread against roaming client (portables, ...)...
