- one (or more) SATA ports (system disk)
- at last one PCI-X 133 slot.
Thanks a lot.

user_global_uid - tricky to set
...es to switch to
the uid that is defined in the LDAP entry.
It took me some time to figure out, that the only way to prevent this
is to set
user_attrs = foo=uid,bar=gid
or something like this, so Dovecot doesn't have a chance to find the
uid/gid. Still it will perform some LDAP lookups.
In my oppinion, Dovecot shouldn't try to get the uid/gid from LDAP if
the user_attrs field is undefined.
I'm using Dovecot 1.0rc24 on Debian sid.

Non-Executable Stack Patch
I was wondering if there's any non-executable stack patch for
FreeBSD's kernel.
I searched in google but all I got was some questions in
freebsd-security back from 2001 and an answer saying someone
heard about a project like this, but no information at all.
Is there any patch like PaX or Openwall available for FreeBSD?
I dont want to discuss if its useless or not since there're a

envi clone in R
Hello all,
Research Systems (www.rsinc.com) have developed and distributes the language IDL,
and the GIS ENVI, written in IDL.
To my oppinion, R language is superior, compared to IDL, in all aspects.
However, ENVI is the rather convenient and feature rich tool.
Is anyone aware about any work, dedicated to the creation of
something, similar to the ENVI, but in R?
Also, recently, the R bindings to the GTK library have appeared....

IAXy and Private IP
...Public IP
(IAXy)--------(ISP LAN)-----------((Internet))-----(Asterisk Server)
This setup can cause any problems to the comunication process? I'm aware
that the IAX2 protocol is NAT friendly so I think this will work, but to
be sure I want to hear some oppinions.
Thanks for all,
Raul.

how to separate virtual delivery and authentication?

I actually use a filter like ( mail=%u)|(uid=%u) but I think for more complex
situations should be better to have two separate filters, one for
authentication and the other for the delivery. What is your oppinion?

I need to make some comment on WineTools
I just red the article on the website about winetools. This is
controversy is a non starter in my oppinion. I believe that something
like winetools should be included in the wine distribution to begin
with. It should be something under the control of the developers
themselves and bug reports should be added to fix any problems. Why did
it take someone outside of the wine development team to do this...

assignments to function return values
...outstanding unusualness while
all other aspects of functions that are pretty common with most other
languages in existance are dealt with in great depth.
I then searched for some hints in the description of the assignment
operator and the asign() function but didnt find anything there also.
In my oppinion the R documentation could be greatly improved by giving
each chapter a list of links to all other chapters of the
documentation needed to understand the example code of this chapter
(all things that are not immediately obvious to someone coming from a
more mainstream language) and thus making each...

AMI and ExtensionState command returning bogus 'status' number
Hello List,
I have been working on a PHP application in order to build a BLF style
script.
Until now everything is going Ok but something a little (in my oppinion)
strange is going on with the 'ExtensionState' command;
The problem is that it does not returns the 'Status' as it's suposed to,
mentioned in the A.T.F.O.T book - version 2.,
where it sais something like:

scaler plugin fixes
...low, it still is a little wobble present. What I
would love would be another movement, like the one that is used in
the animation plugin, where timestep is just how many times to redraw
the animation of it, this makes it 100% accurate all the time, and
makes it seem more professional in my oppinion.
A second smaller issues I have with the scaler is that I have a
feeling that the target point used is a corner and not the center of
the window. or perhaps the center of original sized window, because
the movement has a tendency to go in a curved line. this is hard to
describe, but if you...

Snom Phones Registration/Failover Feature
...all goes
well, If they have a problem with an INVITE, they automatically
register to the secondary asterisk server and start using them. Every
few seconds (I think it was 30) the phone tries again to register on
the primary server, if this succeeds, it uses the primary again.
This is in my oppinion a pretty decent way of doing failover (reminds
me of radius). It beats using Heartbeat and IP Takeover and all the
hassle you (could) have with this solution.
I was reading in the documentation about the SNOM phones (mainly 300)
but I did not find anything in the users-pdf's or on there...

Quite a big function capacity in my oppinion.
And it is more comfortable to get AD DC with fully working Neignborhood

And some of them people (mentioned above) stopped to migrate their Windows
AD DCs to Samba4 one because of the reason - lack of discussion
functionality.
As following, I consider important working full nmb functiona...

Took about 20 minutes for a 3 minute long file on my old 900MHz laptop,
not too impractical in my oppinion.

Anyone try this and have a working setup?

Very Fast Multivariate Kernel Density Estimation
One of the real advances (in my humble oppinion of course) of 2003 is

Computational Geometry to organize the data. The algorithm is now
implemented in C++ with Mathlab interface by Alexander Ihler of MIT:

dovecot-sasl license
hi,
i talked to timo about re-licensing the sasl part of dovecot under a
more liberal license (bsd/lgpl e.g.). it would allow the integration of
it in bsd base systems. another reason i would be interested is adding
sasl support to svnserve [1].
so here is my question:
what is your oppinion about this issue?
any objections from contributors?
