Opera browser on CentOS
Is anyone running the Opera browser on Centos 7 or 6? While not available in a yum-repository, it seems to be available as a snap-package. Not familiar with those yet but curious if the browser is worthwhile to run. I have generally found Firefox less useful/compatible than Chromium but would also like alternatives, particularly since Opera defaults to a VPN-connection.

Opera browser on CentOS
Yes, it will not work on EL6, it requires newer glibc and gtk3. It's time to leave EL6 behind (or stick to Firefox). -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! problem with help.start() in R (PR#1156)
Hi, The function help.start() assume that the brower is netscape which is no longer the dominant brower in used. I am using now opera and other use mozilla or Microsoft IE. I can always type help.start(browser="opera"), but it is not convenience: I would like to be able to set the default brwsernone for all. But the real bug is that even after launching

Opera 7
Hi guys, I was just surprised to see that the Opera 7 Installer (without Java) runs perfectly and installs Op7. After that I was even more surprised to see that also Opera itself starts without any modifications needed as wine opera.exe. But surfing a little around I found some problems, for which perhaps anyone here has a solution? - sadly it crashes every now and then. I suspect something

Opera 10.50 released
Today we released Opera 10.50, the first officially supported Opera release that supports <video> with Ogg Theora since we first experimented with it way back in 2007. Please enjoy and don't forget to file bugs :) -- Philip J?genstedt

Opera proposed Theora for native video playback in browsers
Hi , I see this news in Opera website : http://my.opera.com/haavard/blog/2007/03/05/1 I think this is a good news for Theora Team and also a greater news if video tag becomes true. This extract of the website is incredible : 'One thing to keep in mind that adding native support for Theora in Opera would only add about 300K to Opera's overall size! And I am sure that could even be

insert HTML <select> value into a textarea - Works in IE6, not in FireFox or Opera
I have a simple form at http://mstramba.com/fb5.html It''s just a <select> and a textarea. The idea is to be able to either type into a text area directly or choose from a list of saved words in the select box. When a new choice is made from the select, it automatically gets inserted into the text area. This code DOES work in I.E6 (on my machine (XP pro), but doesn''t

Hi, I am having a problem installing wine on a mandrake 9.1 system with glibc 2.3.2 -3mdk. I get this segmentation fault when installing. It looks to me that it is directx that is the problem which to be honest i am quite happy to live without. If nobody can suggest a remedy for the fault below then if i could disable directx compilation that would be Ok as well. i am using some cflags for

Riak on Camping
Good day, does anyone here have a clue on how to make use of the NoSQL database "Riak" with Camping? I am building my website and Riak seems like pretty much the ultimate database! This would probably ruin every little feature in ActiveRecord, I don''t think I''d be able to do any has_many''s or belongs_to but I''d LOVE to be proven wrong. As far as

Hello! Whenenver I try to save a downloaded file with Opera [6.x] to a Samba share [2.2.x], Opera (and also the windows-explorer) freezes. Having set log-level to 1, I get the following message after a while. Sometimes, but not always, Opera continues working after 30seconds or so. I have the same behaviour in Samba 2.2.2, 2.2.3a and 2.2.4-pre. My Server is running SuSE 7.3 with the 2.4.16
