Voicetronix Openline 4 + asterisk
Any one has documented how-tos for making voicetronix openline 4 to work
with Asterisk.
I have been contacting Australian Digium resellers and Digium cards are
not approved in Australia. So I suppose Australian users are interested
into putting Voicetronix in use.
Any expereience to share will be most appreciated.

Problem with echo
...I can't have asterisk working without echo when I place a call from IP
phone (SIP or H323) to a PSTN Phone. The called number as no problem
with echo but there is a very audible echo in the SIP phone. This
situation occurs either when connected with ISDN card thru i4linux
driver and with my openline card from voicetronix.
Do you have any suggestion fo that?

Voicetronix vs Digium FXO
...aling with my analog FXO woes was to
look into using a Voicetronix card instead of the Digium. They're more
expensive but if it worked better it may be reasonable. They indicated
they were compatable with the CVS HEAD version of *.
Can someone share with me their experiences with Voicetronix OpenLine
and/or OpenSwitch cards with *? I'm specifically interested in FXO
handling and any issues with echo, inbound DTMF detection, and inbound fax
detection.
Thanks in advance,
Paul
PS: Feel free to reply directly if you'd rather not clutter a Digium list
with Voicetronix traffic.

Asterisk with Voicetronix OpenLine4 card
hi there,
i've been able to successfully run asterisk with the Voicetronix OpenLine4
card, it can accept calls and function normally. The only problem I'm
experiencing so far is getting the card to outdial to a third party.
What I'm trying to achieve is basically call bridging, where the caller
dials in to asterisk, some IVR plays and then attempts to perform a

Voicetronix Tones
I'm sorry if this has been answered before. I seem to remember reading a
similar thread a while back, but for the life of me I can't find it
(after 30 minutes of intensive googling).
I have a voicetronix openline 4 card in an * server running CVS HEAD as
of 1st March. Everything is working pretty much as as expected (with a
little more echo than zaptel?).
The question I have is regarding tones heard when dialling. When a sip
phone dials a PSTN number, a dialtone is heard after the number is
dialled, b...

Fax
Hi all !
Let's say you have about 6 small different companies sharing the same E1
/ Asterisk server, and every company needs its own fax number. Since
they don't really need fax machines, what would be the most
cost-effective way to handle this (keeping fax-privacy at its best) ?
Is there a way to configure Hylafax or sth & one modem behind an ATA-186
to email faxes to different

Archiving live streams broken down by time.
...re a way that I can save an archive file by a time span; for example
we have two radio shows that we want to have daily archives on the website,
one that is from 7:30am to 8:00am and one that is from 3:00pm to 3:30pm. Is
there a way that they could be saved with a different filename each day.
Ex. OpenLine093004.ogg for the first show and SportsShow093004.ogg for the
second show. Then have the next day saved with the following date.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

least sucky FXO interface?
Would anyone care to offer opinions as to the FXO interface which sucks
the least :) I have an application in which it appears I must route
certain calls out an analog PSTN line. Presently, I am testing an
SPA-3000, but I can't seem to get the echo heard on the IP end of the
call down to a non-annoying level.
Any suggestions welcomed :)

Asterisk + fax
Hi,
does anyone have any recommended (read tried and tested) way of making asterisk
be able to handle incoming faxes.
I've a PC running asterisk with a digium E1 card in and simply want to be able
to route a call to some application which will take a fax call and save the fax
as an image.
I guess the bits I'm unsure of are how to terminate a fax call without a
modem (if this is

8 lines - best approach
I have 8 lines coming into an existing PBX system and am looking for a cost
effective way to replace the existing system with Asterisk. We need some of
the features in Asterisk, including its ability to support remote offices
(long distance savings).
At first glance this appears to require a T100P card and a channel bank, but
that seems rather expensive. My estimated price on that would be

Outline For Asterisk Book - Please Review & Comment
Asterisk Users
In an attempt to help Asterisk move forward, a number of us have decided
to create a book. It would initially be released as an "ebook" that
could be sent to newbies to help them up the rather steep learning
curve. Ultimately I would like to see it published and sold in
bookstores (preferably by O'Reilly & Co.).
Below is the outline for the book. We REALLY
