Oooops, sorry its late. My favorites in order, Polycom, Snom, Cisco.
OOOOPs, again, you were asking IAX. Never tried an IAX hardphone since I have never heard good things about quality or reliability.
SIP just works. NAT issues are usually simple to fix if that is your reason for going IAX.

CRAN now also rsync-able
Following a suggestion by Doug Bates (half a year ago or so ...) I
have set up an experimental rsync server for CRAN, i.e., it is now
also possible to mirror CRAN using rsync for those who prefer it.
The command
rsync -rl ftp.tuwien.ac.at::CRAN /destination/dir
should copy the complete CRAN ftp area into /destination/dir.
Any comments on wether the server works are appreciated.

Speex-RTP RFC questions
Looks good. Two things though:
- I think the draft should be names -02 since the last one was -01 (I'm
pretty sure).
- The header in the current document should be changed (they say -01)

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Thanks Manuel. I’m following that guide but am now stuck when checking to make sure the nut-sever and nut-client are up and working. I got this:
proton at proton:~$ service nut-server status
nut-server.service - Network UPS Tools - power devices information server

Asterisk hardware
Hi to all,
I already setup asterisk on REDhat 9.0 linux machine.
I will have 4 physical phone lines and 10 IP phones for it to use. I have a
network setup already.
Is getting TDM400P - 4port FXO from digium enough to start? Do I need
anything else?
Thank you

How to apitalize leading letters & else of personal names?
Dear R world,
Do you know about a function that would capitalize in the correct manner
first and family names?
I found in the cwhmisc only the CapLeading function, but it just does not do
the job, taking care only to capitalize the first letter of a word.
I am looking for a function that would recognize " |'|Mc|-" and capitalize
the first letter following these characters.

Dear Arnaud,
Now I started to write a driver that simulates continous power breaks.
(E.g. in every 30 minutes.)
This could be used for testing of setup of client upsmons.
I have to simulate a behaviour of a real UPS. The physical model
contains an extra attribute: the charging current that needed to compute
recharge time and actual battery charge during the recharge process.

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Ok, so just a follow-up to my last email; still following that guide, which is great…. Just stuck on getting the nut-server service starting automatically. Got everything else working. I’ve been able to get the nut-client starting up automatically at boot up (I had a missing “1” in upsmon.conf. Oooops!) However, I cannot get nut-server service to start-up automatically still.
