pdftools on Ubuntu
Hi,
I am trying to install pdftools package on R 3.3.1 (Ubuntu 16.04), but the
following issue occurs:
------------------------- ANTICONF ERROR ---------------------------
Configuration failed because poppler-cpp was not found. Try installing:
* deb: libpoppler-cpp-dev (Debian, Ubuntu, etc)
* rpm: poppler-cpp-devel (Fedora, CentOS, RHEL)
* csw: poppler_dev (Solaris)
* brew: poppler (Mac OSX)

pdftools on Ubuntu
Hi Francois,
Thanks for your quick response.
Actually, I had already done that...
sudo apt-get install libpoppler-cpp-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libpoppler-cpp-dev is already the newest version (0.41.0-0ubuntu1.1).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 107 not upgraded.
Therefore, I assume I have this installed.

New URL redirect checks
Me too. I have changed some valid URLs in \url{} to \verb{} just to
avoid these check NOTEs. I do appreciate the check for the validity of
URLs in packages, especially those dead links (404), but discouraging
URLs with status code other than 200 (such as 301) feels like
overdoing the job. After I "hide" links from R CMD check with \verb{}
, it will be hard to know if these links are

autocorrelation in count data
hello,
I try to model traffic accidents with the following model:
glm.nb(y~j+w+m+sf+b+ft,data=fr[]). the problem is that there exist
autocorrelation in the data. one possibility is to model traffic
accidents with inar(1)-models. has anyone an idea how to change this
model in order to abtain an integer valued time series model?
thanks

[R-pkgs] Introducing pedgene 1.2 on CRAN
Dear useRs:
We would like to introduce the "pedgene" package, version 1.2, available now on CRAN, with a brief manual available as a vignette:
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/pedgene/index.html
The pedgene package performs gene-level kernel and burden association tests with disease status and continuous response
for pedigree data, as described in our recent paper:

fitting allometric equation using a for a power model
Hello all,
I'm fitting an allometric equation that looks like a really clean fit in
the log-log space, but when I back transform the fit of the curve appears
to need an adjustment - the fitted curve appears to predict values a good
deal higher than those from the data.

Graccie mile.

New URL redirect checks
I don't have an opinion on the URL shorteners, but how about the
original question? Redirection can be extremely useful in general.
Shortening URLs is only one of its possible applications. FWIW, CRAN
uses (303) redirect itself, e.g.,
https://cran.r-project.org/package=MASS is redirected to
https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/MASS/index.html Should these
"canonical" CRAN links be

confidence interval for logistic joinpoint regression from package ljr
I?m trying to run a logistic joinpoint regression utilising the ljr package. I?ve been using the forward selection technique to get the number of knots for the analysis, but I?m uncertain as to my results and the interpretation. The documentation is rather brief ( in the package and the stats in medicine article is quite technical) and without any good examples. At the moment I?m thinking

Factor rotation (e.g., oblimin, varimax) and PCA
A bit of a newbee to R and factor rotation I am trying to understand
factor rotations and their implementation in R, particularly the
GPArotation library.
I have tried to reproduce some of the examples that I have found, e.g., I
have taken the values from Jacksons example in "Oblimin Rotation",

New URL redirect checks
Isn't the whole concept of DOI basically link-shortening/redirecting?
For example, this link
https://doi.org/10.2134/agronj2016.07.0395
redirects to
https://acsess.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.2134/agronj2016.07.0395
As a side note, I got so fed up with CRAN check complaints about (perfectly
valid) re-directs that I refuse to use the \url{} tag anymore.

R forum for only Statistics
Hi!
I wish to know if there is any R forum which is meant only for Statistics? I mean where we can clarify our statistics doubts and seek knowledge. I know there are lot many books and internet sites, but 'R forum' has altogether different standard and very high level and one can learn a lot from them.

TEST DE SEPARABILIDAD CON R
Buenas tardes:
truncreg). Para calcular la eficiencia
