Setting offdelay and ondelay in Smart-UPS 1500 RM units
...the unit in question (a 1500 VA rack mountable one): Model: Smart-UPS 1500 RM Firmware revision: 617.3.I USB firmware revision: 1.5 Manufacturing date: 2003/06/03 The unit can be monitored with NUT, no problem at this. But when turning it off an back on, the "offdelay" and "ondelay" parameters from "ups.conf" aren't honored. This unit uses a different HID path than the stardard one for sending a "load.on.delay" command. As the driver (usbhid-ups) can't find this command, it has to revert to rebooting the UPS. The HID paths involved are: - &q...

Delayed UPS start up after shutdown?
...change the parameter > ups.delay.start into your UPS to set the "Interval to wait before > (re)starting the load (seconds)" > > use upsset to change the value. So far, the ups.delay.start parameter in my MGE Protection Center 675 has always been equal to the driver.parameter.ondelay parameter (which equals the ondelay argument in ups.conf). Furthermore, whenever I have changed the ondelay argument in ups.conf (and restarted NUT) the above parameters have always been set equal to ondelay. Therefore, I would assume that ups.delay.start cannot help. Do you have any reason to...

ondelay parameter does not work with NUT on Raspbian and Eaton 5E850iUSBDIN UPS
Thanks for help! Are you happy with your Eaton Elipse ECO 1600? Does it work well with ondelay? I will need some UPS that supports the ondelay parameter. MGE Pulsar Extreme - restart problem
...with Personal Solution-Pac 2 on W2k I thought that there might be a way to achieve it with nut, too. However, after trying "everything", I don't know any further. My ups.conf: driverpath = /bin [Pulsar1000] driver = mge-shut port = /dev/ttyS1 offdelay = 120 # mge-shut: ondelay in s * 10 ondelay = 15 desc = tfp-3 Manually set cold start disabled automatic restart enabled energy savings disabled Any ideas? Thanks for your answers. Axel

Try the following things and let's see what happens: - 'offdelay=30', 'ondelay=0' (the driver will send 'S.5' to the device), - 'offdelay=120', 'ondelay=0' (the driver will send 'S02' to the device), - 'offdelay=30', 'ondelay=180' (the driver will send 'S.5R0003' to the device), - 'offdelay=120', 'ondelay...

...down. Power is still out, however, roughly 40 seconds after the UPS shut down, it turns back on and it starts supplying power to the load, thus turning back on the devices attached to it. This is obviously not something I want. In trying to figure out the problem, the closest I've come was the ondelay parameter, but that only comes in play after the power returns, so it shouldn't apply here. The UPS in question is a CyberPower Value600ELCD. Its USB port is connected to my router which runs an up-to-date Debian testing with nut-{driver,monitor,server} version 2.7.4-8 installed via apt. mge-shut don't reboot ups by default
Hi I have Pulsar 1000 (MGE) and mge-shut 2.0.5-3. By default mge-shut don;t reboot ups after upsmoc -c fsd, only permanent powerdown. After I add ondelay=30 in config, all nice, ups restarted after 10 sec. But according man mge-shut ondelay measured in tens of seconds and by default equal 3. -- Olleg Samoylov

Default value for ondelay
..., then: short off time, it doesn't notice and it > remains off; long off time, it does come back on. I did one minute for "long" but didn't do binary partitioning of the interval to assess the exact > threshold. The default values in ups.conf are currently offdelay = 20 and ondelay = 30. In view of your findings, shouldn't the default ondelay be offdelay+30 or even higher? Roger

I replace my batteries every 3-4 years, and I have had an ECO 1600 die as soon as I tried to use it with the new batteries. I have not specifically tested the delayed restart with this ECO 1600 w...

Windows: offdelay/ondelay
Are there plans to change the default offdelay/ondelay for the Windows versions of NUT since it can't be invoked at the end of shutdown? E.g. I have a Win2k3 server that takes just over 4min to shut down, so I set my offdelay to 600 (ondelay is +15 that) to be extra safe. Maybe a 2 min by default would be good? Most (all?) APC non-smart UPS'...

ondelay parameter does not work with NUT on Raspbian and Eaton 5E850iUSBDIN UPS
Hi, I have the Eaton 5E850iUSBDIN UPS connected via USB to a Raspberry Pi 3B+. It seems that everything but the ondelay parameter works so far. when I test the setup with this command: upsmon -c fsd The NUT server makes the NUT clients shut down properly and the Raspberry Pi running the NUT server shuts down correctly too. The problem is that after UPS shuts down, it immediatelly brings the power back so the Raspb...
