Installation issue?
Greetings from a noob.
I am having a little difficulty trying out Wine-20050111 on a fully
updated athlon fedora core 2 system and hope other wine users can help.
Review of the wine-users.pdf file included in the wine rpm and scanning
some of the wine-users mailing list archives have not pointed to any
solutions.
I am trying to install Turbotax from a Turbtax distribution CD. (The

Oh well, that didn't reveal much! The pointer is not anything crazy,
and in fact its value is one that didn't crash before. I was hoping
maybe for something obviously weird.

Quick fix for jack_fst?
Hi guys,
Starting a new thread because the old one got very long...
I think that the information in the wine developer's guide at these two
pages is relevant here:
http://www.winehq.com/site/docs/wine-devel/address-space
http://www.winehq.com/site/docs/wine-devel/initialization
It seems that wine_init imposes some Windows-style memory constraints, and
the big memory patch probably had some

Updates
SuSE tries to feed me Wine V20050211 as a security fix for the recent WMF
vulnerability. OTOH, WneHQ says that this is fixed in V0.9.6.
Can anyone tell me how to specify to "YOU" (YaST Online Updater) that I most
certainly don't want that 20050211 version? Not now -- not ever! I am now using
V0.9.7. If I permit "YOU" to perform automatic updates I get clobbered by this

Wine is very slow
Hi,
I'm trying to perform a installation of FF8 with wine, but the installation is very slow.
About 2h to perform 10% of the install. Is there any reason about that ? I've a good configuration so it's not the fault of my pc.
Second, no network connexion is available. Can I make it works ?
Thx for your help.

Debugging advice
Hi folks,
I am trying to debug a scientific / engineering application called SRIM
(www.srim.org, particularly the batch-mode version of SRIM 2003 called
"SRModule"). This is my first experience with a debugger like winedbg, so
I am still learning how best to use it.
My question for now is: given a known breakpoint, and a value to watch (in
this case $ecx), is there an easy way to find
