Running Warcraft 3 + Listchecker a hosting tool
Running on a fresh install of Ubuntu Intrepid and WINE 1.1.10 I'm having some issues running warcraft 3 (the only game I play, so this is somewhat offputting). When starting Warcraft in normal (direct3d) mode the top and bottom panels stay there (making the game unplayable). I'm able to use -opengl and the game fullscreens correctly, but then when I start listchecker (a hosting tool which I'm also running under WINE) and then do something...

Introduce a new function in a package?
R-help, Sometimes I define functions I wish to have in any R session. The obvious thing to do is copy-paste the code The thing is that sometimes I don't know where I have the function code. My question is if somehow I could define a function and "introduce" it (let's say 'base' package ) so that could be used anytime I run a different R project. Thank you in advance

Re: Thanks Frank, setting graph parameters, and why social scientists don't use R
...make sense of gnomic utterances like "Omit 'var' to impute all variables, creating new variables in 'search' position 'where'". I still don't know what that one means (as I don't understand search positions, or why they're important). This can be very offputting, and could lead the rabbit to return to familiar SPSS territory. Finally, friendlier error messages would also help. It took me 3 days, and opening every function I could, to work out that '...cannot find function xxx.data.frame...' meant that MICE was unable to make a polychotomous lo...

...roject is socially bankrupt. The highly qualified people are in nature meritocrats because the tech and academic details of the project is frequently the only thing they are really fluent in, and any risk of being judged by any other standard than material project merit would be felt as immensely offputting to them, and so hence the competence exodus. For this reason I suggest that if you think you need a social code, it reflects that you have less-competent people on board and likely in charge already, and the project's best interest would be to not encourage their participation and instead...
