Error in check(itp) : object does not represent a K sample problem with censored data
Hello,
I have two questions regarding a survival analysis I have been
working on. Below is the code to date.
The variables:
1) recidivism$intDaysUntilFVPO are the number of days before an
violent offence was committed - if no offence was committed than the
days between court hearing and end of data collection was recorded.
2) recidivism$intDaysUntilFNVPO are the number of days before a

"Complex?" import of pdf files (criminal records) into R table
Hi there,
I'm facing the decision if it would be possible to transform several
more or less complex pdf files into an R Table-Format or if it has to be
done manually. I think it would be a impudent to expect a complete
solution, but I would be grateful if anyone could give me an advice on
how the structure of such a R-program could look like, and if it's
possible in general.

Dovecot and CAPITALISATION = grrrr ;-(
Hello,
As far as I'm aware, email is case insensitive ?
Dovecot however, seems to be taking offence at the fact that someone is
sending mail to user at SOMEDOMAIN.XYZ.
Postfix has no issues handling it, it when it gets passed over to

Having less languages in Firefox (hunspell dictionaries provide too many locales)
Hello,
on CentOS 6, I am routinely writing mails in English, German and
French and using the related hunspell dictionaries for the spelling in
Firefox (I'm using Google Apps).
This works fine but the problem is that languages are added for all
the possible locales (English US, UK, Philippines, Bostwana, Trinidad
and Tobago, Denmark (sic!), ... and German Germany, Austria... and

Emails redownloading
Hi,
recently, we had a problem on one of our mail servers and, after
reboot, HDD with emails wasn't mounted into system. Until we fixed it,
LOTS of users logged in (Dovecot allowed login and recreated directory
structure of mailboxes) and saw empty mailboxes. Now they are
redownloading all email, which isn't fun, as it's about 2 TB of data.
Anyway, is there a way how to

vde on tinc
...ls of tinc-1.0.16 and tinc-1.0.14.
I remember once I have compiled vde on tinc-1.0.14. Is it removed
intentionally? I couldn't find an update in ChangeLog.
Besides, the newest code in git fails to compile, because of a redefined
extern static variable in src/vde/device.c. I need to remove the offencing
line to compile.
Now I am staying with tinc git HEAD using vde.
Yours,

Are there any bloggers amoung us going to useR 2009 ?
*(note*: This is an R community question, not a statistical nor coding
question. Since this is my first time writing such a post, I hope no one
will take offence of it.)
Hello all,
I will be attending useR 2009 next week, and was wondering if there are any
of you who are *bloggers *intending to participate and report on useR 2009?
If so - I would love to know your blogs URL so as to follow you.

Asterisk/SER/Call Manager
Hi all,
I have Asterisk talking to my call manager 4.0 with SIP trunk as mentioned
in the wiki. I also have SER talking to Asterisk. I need the SER talking
to my Call manager. The reason why CCM cannot talk to SER is because SER is
a on a public ip address, and CCM is on a private ip address.
The asterisk how ever has 2 nics, which talks to both and external. Is it
possible to allow

NonParametric Anova
Dear Sir,
I would like to ask whether there is any tool in R, developed for the function of non parametric Anova, where the non parametric analysis is able to compute the p-value for interaction as well (similar to Anova)? If not, would sir like to suggest any of the other statistical software around which would have this tool?
Thank you.

inconsistent output using 'round'
I am hoping for some advice regarding limiting decimal points to 3.
'Round' produces the desired results except for the 97.5% confidence interval.
Any advice as to how I modify the code to obtain output to 3 decimal
points for all ouput is appreciated,

(no subject)
Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to get printed output while a loop is taking place.
Example:
for(i in 1:10){
print(i)
some long process
}
This will print the values of i only after the loop is finished, what I would like is to
see them when the process enters the i-th iteration to keep track of how the
program is running.
Thank you,
Gilda

"Holes" in a data frame with time intervals
Good morning,
I am facing a problem very easy to solve with a program, but not too
easy (at least IMHO) with a "declarative" approach.
I have a dataframe df with some information about bank branches with a
validity time associated (start date/end date, format YYYY-MM-DD) to
some attributes (for example number of employees assigned).
The following example will clarify this

consists of a series of individual records. Each record includes specific
labels/field names (a sample of 1 record (one of the longest ones) is

each individual record becomes a row (some cells will have a lot of text).

Data frame "pivoting"
Dear R experts,
I am trying to solve this problem, related to the possibility of
changing the shape of a data frame using a "pivoting-like" function.
I have a dataframe df of observations as follows:

A1 2008 P1 V10
