parameter to change that. Is there _any_ way, to modify the OU for a new
entry, instead of using the one given in smb.conf? At the moment I
copy/paste new entries to get them into the right OU, which is not the
thing I want to do in the long run.
Bye,

compiling under redhat
Hi again.
With your help I managed to get the configure run through
- i installed or updated the various librarys. it is unsure though
if the errors seen are not in the end fatal.
when i now run make it tells me this:

Thank you very much. That's just what I needed to hear,
was thinking about installing rh 8 but was unsure if i'd make it even
more unlikely to get it compiled. My system needs a clean install

autoconf problem fixex, now other probs...
Hi there.
I mentioned in my before postings that I had compile errors
because of some automake incompatiblity. Now after installing
redhat 8 these are fixed, and the ogg directory compiled fine,
but vorbis gave me an error while it wanted to make a pdf
file. (!! Why the hell would a make want to create a pdf?!?)
These are some parts of the error log as the whole is too long:

Can anyone help setting up ??
I'd advise to search for previous messages on this mailing list,
such as http://www.xiph.org/archives/icecast/2870.html where
you can see how to compile it.
But before you go ahead ask yourself ir you really want icecast (2).
If you just want some server and mp3 only is ok then go for
shoutcast, as it's easyier to set up, and there are binarys of that
around, also for windows. If you go

icecast with WinAmp as the streamer
I am running a similar configuration. I also have the oddcastDSP plugin
to connect to the icecast. It's version 2 alpha 1 though.
The normal icecast (version 1) can't stream ogg, if you want to to this,
you need icecast 2 (which has just the name icecast on the xiph
cvs server. Be sure to select the right server to stream to in the oddcastDSP
plugin and see that you have properly edited

Readme notice
Hello
Just a little notice to the developers:
The README file - here it states to do a ./configure.
This is outdated, it has to be ./autogen.sh.

compiler warning
Hi again.
I just compiled icecast 2.
It seemed ok but at the end I got this:
/usr/bin/ld: warning: libcom_err.so.2, needed by /usr/lib/libcurl.so, may conflict with libcom_err.so.3
Is this anything I have to take care of?
Can you explain what it means?
Thanx,
Luke

I searched for documentation about ices2 and found two,
one of them http://quasi.ksl.com/icecast/docs/Unofficial%20Icecast%20HOWTO.pdf
where link to the other was incuded (which i found before though).
All what I saw was that it only supports encoding streams from
soundcard input or playlist, but not a stream (from Oddcast DSP).

Multiple Ogg Streams
Hello
I've been playing around with Icecast, Oddcast DSP v2 and streamTranscoder,
trying to get multiple streams with different bitrates in ogg format running.
The source I am streaming is from Winamp 2.80 Oddcast DSP v2 serving
to a linux compilation (got it from CVS just yesterday) of Icecast 2.
I also compiled streamTranscoder 1.1 and after much trial got a
not really stable second

automake problem
Hi again.
Which version of automake is used for the sources of icecast (& co)?
Which versions of automake will be able to work with the files on cvs?
I'd also like to ask you if some of you got to build the icecast 2 sources correctly
with redhat 7.2, 7.3 or 8.0.
I am getting the following error doing an ./autogen.sh:
I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish

compiling under redhat
Hi there.
I have tried to compile icecast 2 by following
the instructions on http://www.xiph.org/archives/icecast/2870.html
After I upgrated my cvs version i was able to check out
the source just as in the above mentioned inscrution,
but when doing a ./autogen.sh it gave me the following errors:
I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish
to pass any to it, please specify them

I don't quite understand. You always talk about two instances. Do you really mean
two instances of ices2 called seperately? Do I have to make
