Two sources on one PC
you can run multiple instances of the standlone version of oddcastV3
by just installing it multiple times into different directories...
all config files are kept locally.

fixed and released 3.0.10 (http://www.oddsock.org/tools/oddcastv3). And
here I thought I had made a pretty darn accessible win32 app... I tend not
to get too many reports from blind users (and I know there are quite a few
out there in the broadcasting industry)...I guess I figured that "no
reports" meant things were good....

Using aoTuV with Oddcast
Hi,
Excuse my ignorance, I'm primarily a LInux user and don't have a Windows
install on any hardware that's actually working at the moment.
Is it possible to use aoTuV B3 with Oddcast? Is this simply a matter of
replacing a DLL? If so, are there any precompiled DLLs anywhere, or is
anyone with the appropriate tools prepared to cook one up for me? I have
people who are probably

Oddcast & vorbisenc.dll
Hey oddsock, I was wondering why vorbisenc.dll is statically linked inside oddcastv3, yet vorbis.dll, ogg.dll, etc is not. This means I cannot update my stream to use a newer version of the encoder, and I can't try other tunings of encoders.
I'm wondering if this is a mistake since vorbisenc.dll is distributed in your package, yet it is not used. It would be very nice if...

Best way downsample stream from 128 to 56 on the server?
Hi!
We want to over our stream in better quality (128 or 256) - but we still have
listeners using ISDN ... what's the best way to create a 56'er stream from the
128er send to the server?
The downsampling has to run on the debian streaming server.

o - I have the IceCast Server running on the Win Host.
o - I have OddcastV3 running
o - I can see the web interface at http://192.x.x.x:8000/ and logon, etc.
o - I appear to have one mount point, which was created within the Oddcast interface by me.
o - When I connect from my client pc using either my domain name or my local IP I get NO SOUND!

Windows sound device
I can't find a method of capturing from the Windows sound device.
In ices 2, I see examples for ALSA and OSS. What about Win32?

which source client should i use?
hello,
I just started to learn icecast, it is really great.
I use icecast2.3 as server and oddcastV3 as source
client to capture live data from microphone in Windons
XP.
Here is my technical question:
I like to be able to manage source clients (for
Windows XP) configurations dynamically.
So, i like to use web interfaces to save dynamically
generated configuration file for connecting the server...

Controlling Buffer Lengths
...MP3 server. I
am using Winamp 5 with stock streaming settings (64kbyte buffer with
45% prebuffer) to test, as that is what most listeners use. I am not
using Icecast's burst-on-connect feature to try and keep buffers as
manageable as possible.
How I test is simple. I load up Foobar2000 with Oddcastv3, and stream
music to the server. I then use Winamp to play the stream back. All
stock settings as far as buffers go. Vorbis is a q0 mono stream,
giving about 55kbps VBR. MP3 is a 32kbps mono stream CBR. I let
Winamp play the stream for about 5 minutes before timing the
difference between when...

looking for blind win32 users
Hello all,
Sorry to post this here, but I am pretty sure there are a few blind
win32 users who frequent the list.
I'm looking for a blind win32 user or someone visually impaired enough
to depend on assistive technology to use applications. I am doing
research related to win32 development and assistive technologies.
Essentially I'm trying to make sure a new application will be usable by

Vorbis granule position
I have a technical question about the vorbis granule position,
but I would like to put the question into context.
When a ogg vorbis stream is ripped using wget, fetch, or
streamripper under Linux or FreeBSD, the resulting file has
problems both with granule position and with a missing EOS. I
think I can figure out how to add an EOS, but is there a way
to determine the granule position in a stream

The current OddcastV3 install comes with the aoTuV b3 DLLs, and allows you
to optionally install them. And yes, they are just a simple replacement.
These DLLs have (among other things) a quality setting of -2 that triggers a
special low-bitrate mode that people say is quite good....for low-bitrate
that is..

Best way to handle multiple (6+) streams
I have a need to stream 6 or 8 different audio sources (radios), and am
seeking suggestions on the best way to do it. Although I'd like to stream
each separately, I could combine them to stereo streams and do 2 on each.
I'd like to know what the best hardware configuration would be to accomplish
this? Are there any multiple input sound cards that have been successfully
tested, or
