OT: compiling oddcast DSP
Hi, There's a rather serious problem with the Oddcast DSP for Winamp, when you stream in vorbis format over icecast2, it drops ~ 1/2 sec of near the beginning of every song except the first. I tracked this down, it turns out oddcast drops the last vorbis page of every stream. (The DSP doesn't receive the new metadata until after the song has been playing for a second or two, which is

Icecast + oddcast + voice
Hi! It's a bit not on list topic, but i'm trying to get some voice from microphone in my icecast2 transmissions. I use icecastv2+oddcastv2+xmms (1.2.10). I've been trying to get voice via recorder plugin, but it didn't work. Normally I can record from mic, but i can't get it under xmms. Does anybody have any suggestions how to make microphone input work under xmms? TIA, KoopH --- >8 ---- List archives: http://...

I completely forgot to implement your fix, and my apologies for that, but I've updated the oddcastv2 code now and updated the wa2 plugin with this new code, so please try http://www.oddsock.org/tools/oddcastv2_wa2/oddcast_dsp_wa2_v2.0.5.exe and see if this fixes your issue... note that this is the wa2 version of oddcastv2 2. what version are you trying to compile ? wa2 ? wa3 ? The wa3 plugin co...

I mentioned this 1 or 2 years back but it's still not fixed. I presume it's a Icecast2 server problem. I'm using the latest Oddcast client, and my server host Mediacast1 has just updated to the latest Icecast2. I'm currently streaming a track in Vorbis format called: M?ire Brennan - I L?thair D? It shows this correctly in Winamp on the broadcast PC. On the Icecast Status page,

How to complie Icecast2 on Win32
if you are reading from line in, then use 44100/Stereo, Oddcast (pre oddcastv2) has issues with converting 22/mono to 22/mono....basically, all is good if you have 44kHz input (I think mono or stereo works)... oddsock At 06:55 PM 11/25/2002 -0600, you wrote: >Ok. ...ve expected the audio data to change at all. Your plugin is simply reading it, encoding it, and sending it elsewhere. Oddcast disconnections
Hi Oddsock Have you had any reports of your OddCastv2 wa2 plugin disconnecting without reconnecting? I'm clicking Connect every morning before I go to work and disconnect at night when I get home (due to traffic limits on my DSL). However, over the 5 days of operation, it has disconnected itself 3 times before I got home. I was using 2.0.3 unti...

...page, I see : Current Song: M?ire Brennan - I L?thair D? which I presume is correct. If I then open this stream with winamp, it displays as : M - I L?thair D?. If I look at the file properties, the vorbis winamp plugin tells me there are two comment fields, ARTIST=M and TITLE=I L?thair D?. Oddcastv2 only sent TITLE=M? ire Brennan - I L??thair D??, so that tells me that the winamp vorbis input plugin is not handling the charset properly. Frankly I'm suprised that oddcast is actually handling it properly, but as far as I can tell (the icecast2 status page also shows <artist>M?ire...

How to complie Icecast2 on Win32
Ok. Now it will run. But when i try to play back my stream(either ogg/vorbis or mp3) it sounds like the chipmunks. Could it be that I'm broadcasting at a sample rate of 22050 in mono? This shouldn't make a difference as the source is also 22050 samplerate and mono(its the line-in plugin for winamp). I'm using Winamp 2.81 with the is the Oddcast DSP for Winamp 2.xx plugin to

OddCastDSPv2 + Winamp 2.91 + SQRSoft crossfader
Hey Oddsock I couldn't find your email address so sorry for posting to the list. I know we've had a similar discussion in the past but I'm hoping something can be arranged to solve this problem. I've just tried your new OddCastv2 (for Winamp2) with the SQRSoft crossfader hoping that the old problem had been overcome, however, it is much worse. Winamp simply exits without any error as soon as I click Play when connected to an IceCast2 server. This occurs with any sample rate or number of channels. Version 1 would work at...

[Re: icecast2 ??]
Dear list, I agree with the main points that have been stated here lately -- icecast2 appears not ready for prime time (because of lack of web presence / tarball and rpm downloads / some documentation on line) and icecast1 community needs a support forum if this list no longer is one. It would be so simple to spell out the statuses on www.icecast.org -- Status of icecast1, status of
