codec issues
We've bought the G729 codec for lowering SIP bandwidth usage (we're using grandstream phones) and we're quite happy with it up until I tried using IAXPhone 0.2.0 build 116 with my asterisk 1.0.0 installations. Weirdly enough, calls from IAXphone to the GS phone work just fine. So are calls from both phones to voicemail. And from both phones to analog phones connected to FXS ports.

TDM04b to SIP extension not ringing (sip to sipworks fine) - resolved but why?
...line >and call out just fine. >I just dont get ringing on the SIP extension for incoming calls. >What have I overlooked? >Thanks >Jerry I had a statement like extens => s,1,Set(CALLERID(name)="AC") this line STOP SIP extensions from ringing!!!! hard to believe. Obviosuly I have a problem with setting callerid name but I dont see why the phone stopped ringing. I made a noop out of the line and the phones ring again. Jerry

Limit IAX calls on a peer, in and out
...box for a small client with 10 phones. They have a 4500/500k ADSL connection which works great when no more than 8 external calls are in progress. (ulaw) The problem is when all 10 people try to use an external channel, AND/OR, 8+ incoming calls arrive at once. The symptom when this happens is obviosuly dropped calls or choppy calls. Of course the ADSL connection is a problem, but I must first deal with the call drops/choppiness before the client invests in a bigger pipe. (loss of client confidence). Is there a call-limit like in sip.conf? I can dream up a way to limit outbound calls in my d...

Shares get disconnected and cannot reconnect over VPN
...s says it cannot access the drive. After some retries, I can connect again and the whole thing repeats from the beginning. I have tried also using PPTP (which puts me on the same subnet as the server, not on a different one) and basically it seems I am getting the same behaviour. Obviosuly the same clients, when connected directly to the server's lan, show no issues at all and work flawlessly. I don't know if PPTP lets broacasts go through or not. OpenVPN does not, since it's routed and not bridged. I assume that apart from speed (512K on WAN connections) broad...

Cannot print from Win2003 R2
..., "Test page failed to print." when doing a test page or just a greyed out print button from MS applications (IE, word, etc). The same server can print to other printers (non-samba) and to the same samba printers if using a "local" TCP/IP port (bypassing samba and CUPS). I am obviosuly authenicated on samba when trying to print and I can access samba shares on the server that exports the printers. All other machines (XP, win 2000, including a Windows 2000 TSE) can print fine to any printer on the samba server. Increasing the logging level and analyzing the results, it seems...
