multivariate xts merge question
...with adding n new columns from the returned data frame (vector).
Unfortunately, I have been unable to accomplish this.
apply(x,1,function(y,ns) procState(y,ns), colnames(x))
gives me a list, where a non-intrinsic attribute contains the timestamp.
$`2012-03-16 16:04:00`
aud cad chf eur gbp jpy nzd usd
1 -3 -5 7 5 1 -1 3 -7
$`2012-03-16 16:05:00`
aud cad chf eur gbp jpy nzd usd
1 -3 -5 7 5 -1 1 3 -7
How do I merge this with the original xts?
I tried merge(x,unlist(y)) to flatten it, but instead of getting n new
columns I get the timestamps repeated n times.
I do ne...

R-beta: losing attributes in binary ops
Thanks to Thomas Lumley for the very quick fix of the NextMethod(.Generic)
bug. The patch enclosed in his message to r-help fixed that problem
nicely.
But..., I've got another one.
x <- 1:4
attr(x,"foo") <- "bar"
attributes(x < 4)
returns NULL.
The "foo" attribute has been lost in the "x < 4" operation.
The blue book says that the

Supermicro SAS/SATA controllers?
The standard controller that has been recommended in the past is the
AOC-SAT2-MV8 - an 8 port with a marvel chipset. There have been several
mentions of LSI based controllers on the mailing lists and I''m wondering
about them.
One obvious difference is that the Marvel contoller is PCI-X and the LSI
controllers are PCI-E.
Supermicro have several LSI controllers. AOC-USASLP-L8i with the

R-alpha: loop speed
I noticed Doug only circulated the following on S-news, but it may be of
interest to R users who don't follow S-news. His findings are certainly
consistent with my own, where my problems often force me into the
element by element type of situation.
