Resource map sanity check fails after GRUB "keeps" the gfx mode
...ug.cgi?id=69488 Good to hear that my patch actually makes more than cosmetic difference for somebody. My system doesn't hang even with the stack trace. I posted another patch on the bug page. It widens the BOOTFB resource to match the PCI BAR instead of making it busy. With the new patch, nvidiafb doesn't report that the resource is busy, it reports unsupported hardware, which is true. Old patch: nvidiafb 0000:01:00.0: BAR 3: can't reserve [mem 0xf0000000-0xf1ffffff 64bit pref] nvidiafb: cannot request PCI regions New patch: nvidiafb: Device ID: 10de0ffc nvidiafb: unknown NV_ARCH...

nouveau driver is not loading
Hello, I have installed git-kernel (3.2-rc3) with git-drm libs on debian. nvidiafb on terminals works fine, but loading of nouveau for Xorg fails. Maybe someone can help me or give me hints (what do I have to change?). The kernel produces the attached output. ...it didn't. It's better when patches don't have unexpected effects even if the effects are positive :) > And your PCI-BAR adjustment doesn't change > anything either, sorry. I simply tried another approach to pacify the resource checker. However, there is some difference. nvidiafb cannot access the resources if IORESOURCE_BUSY is used. It's not that it matters for me. nvidiafb fails on my hardware anyway and I don't need it when I already have simplefb and nouveau. But I think we should have a closer look why it fails and what other drivers may fail. -- Regards,...

I'm not even entirely sure how/why it thinks it can work on this ha...
