help with kriging interpolation
....
I would like to be able to get a single value y given sinle input set
(x1,x2,x3,...xn)
A google search on this takes me lierally to the same example on involving
analysis with soil sampling and I cannot figure out how to extract single
point interpolant.
Any examples or pointers appreciated,

Help with "recode" and "factor" functions
I have a data set with seven inputs. Four of which are categorical. For my
midterm, my professor wants us to scale all the inputs. This means, I
pressume, that I have to use 'recode' or 'factor' to transform the
categorical data in numerical. For example, one input variable is
'race=(b,w,h,o)'. I just want to assign a numerical value to all
'b,w,h,o'. I thought 'recode' should do this, but it doesn't work. Here's
the code I'm using for recode:
recode(race, "b='1';w='2';h=...

I have small samples of data (between 6 and 15) for

for each time point is normally distributed. The
problem is that the data arrvies sporadically and I
would like to detect the number of outliers after I
have six data points for any time period. Essentially,

when administering the w2k boxes via the mmc one of the machine

Wineasio in Mono = No Stereo
...n of wineasio which I have compiled > 1.7.4. when I open an app with wine, I do see the connections in Qjack connections, but It is not in stereo Ardour can verify this, and both left and right connection are connected from wine to jack, I have googled for this answer to no aval and I have asked numerious times on IRC in #winehq #archlinux and #alsa all don't know what to say, I'm very puzzled here that wineasio doesn't have stereo output. Any app I use with sound in wine connected to jack doesn't have stereo, and I have checked that the alsa driver in winecfg does have stereo, it...

"The cophenetic similarity of two objects a and b is defined as the
similarity level at wich objects a and b become members of the same
cluster during the course of clustering" Legendre, P and Legendre, L Numeri
Ecology, 1998.
I've made a (tricky) function to compute this cophenetic matrix. But now
I need some help to evaluate my function with your data. Because for
little matrix (as Legendre's example), I found the same cophenetic
correlation as Matlab do (direct calculation) but for bigger mat...

Changing the x-axis labels in plot()
...h just
fine:
plot(row(d)[,3:9],d[,3:9])
So as there are 12 rows in my matrix, there are 12 columns of points,
which is what she wants.
However, she wants the x-axis labelled with the row names, not with
1,2,3,4,5 etc
I can figure out from reading par() how to turn off the default drawing
of the numerical labels, but how do I use the row names instead?
Thanks
Mick
