How about if I sell you a copy of speex. Buy low, sell high seems like a good capitalist plan, and then you could feel good about using Speex! Using Gauss with R
Dear All, I am a long time S user and now a convert to R. As part of my general work in time series I occasionally assist groups of econometricians and others in the finance fraternity. In particular, that community has invested a large amount of time and effort in writing specialised code in Gauss. I am unfamiliar with Gauss (although I have used Matlab which is, I understand, a comparable

data.frame() size
Hi, In the example below why is d 10 times bigger than m, according to object.size ? It also takes around 10 times as long to create, which fits with object.size() being truthful. gcinfo(TRUE) also indicates a great deal more garbage collector activity caused by data.frame() than matrix(). $ R --vanilla .... > nr = 1000000 > system.time(m<<-matrix(integer(1), nrow=nr, ncol=2)) [1]

mysql dates
does anyone know of a way to make the date_helper deal with mysql dates with 00 values in them? I have lots of dates that are like the following: 2005-04-00 2005-00-00 and I need to set null values in a date_select for elements that are 00. These are valid dates in mysql. In the absence of an immediate solution to the above, I''ve been trying to find out how InstanceTag.new works so I can

...about this. The only thing I see is recuding the clients buffer, but since connection is tcp, there will stil be delay. The correct solution is to use some udp streaming that all clients may receive at the same time. This can be achieved with vlc for instance. Running win or Linux apps on a Power PC Mac
Hi, I am desperately trying to make a little application work that is only available for Win or Linux machines. My computer is a G4 Power PC Mac running Tiger. Darwine is not compatible PPC. There was an old version, but in the readme file it said that I would not be able to run .exe files on a PPC, so I don't understand the point of the application... Qemu doesn't work. OpenLina is
