About upgrading from version 4.11.4 to version 4.12.3, will I have problems with that smb.conf and with the ./configure used?

Previous versions of samba or how to disable NTML2 authentication
If I run apt-get install samba, this only seems to retrieve the latest version
of samba.
How do I retrieve an earlier version of samba?
Alternatively, how do I disable NTMLv2 on my Linux PC?
The settings in the link below work for Windows 7 and I can access my
Terastation again from Windows 7, but how do I do this on a Linux PC
(Ubuntu 14.04)?

named pipe, dcom and samba4
...they have never heard
of service principals and says it should work out of the box.
I asked them to provide me with a setspn -l listing of the principal of
a working configuration, and indeed there is no SPN associated with the
DCOM objects.
So I guess the authentication probably goes through NTMLv2 in a MSAD
environement but seems to require kerberos auth in a Samba4 setup.
Is anyone gone through this kind of issue yet?

When compiling samba4 I used the following:

Samba vs Microsoft Logon Protocols
Hello,
I am trying to figure out how the different values for "max
protocol" and "min protocol" (as seen in the smb.conf man page under the
"max protocol" section) correlate to the Microsoft jargon for the
different logon protocols. Here is what I've determined. Could some
please verify this for me?

How to force NTLMv1 on server side?
I know NTLMv1 isn't secure and NTLMv2 is better. But I need to test a
client's NTMLv1 compatibility when the server does not support NTLMv2
and to do that I need samba (current version 3.0.33 via CentOS 4) to
not try to negotiate NTMLv2. All the searches I've done tell me how
to enable NTLMv2, but specifying:
[global]
encrypt passwords = yes
ntlm auth = yes
lanman auth = no
Does not cause Samba to mark the Negotiate NTLMv2 Key bit as disabled
in the NTLMSSP Flags message sent by the server.
