smbcquotas tells me that "quotas are not enabled"
I have a setup of Ubuntu 8.04 running Samba 3.0.28a. Connected to our network I have a buffalo linkstation acting as Network Attached Storage (NAS), which I have successfully mounted on the local file system. Using smbcquotas I believe I can set up a quota for each user on the NAS. To get started, I run the command: smbcquotas //192.168.1.4/share -S FSQFLAGS:QUOTA_ENABLED -A

I need to setup quota on //server/home for user a to 1GB and on //server/client (for all users on this share) to 10GB May you please let me know the exact command to be used for this? Also, do I need to add any other parameter in smb.conf in order to make quotas work? I have compiled samba with quotas option. Thank you. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! save.image() error reappears
...I can see, there are no permission problems, the drive is not in any way write-protected, and every diagnostic program I can throw at the machine finds absolutely no problem with either the physical surface of the drive or the FAT. The entire (large) hard drive is partitioned and formatted as NTFS5. I have no difficulty writing any other files to the "g" partition, and every other program that makes use of temporary copies of large working files on "g" has no difficulty. If I move the R data directories to the same partition as the binary file ("f" in this c...

rsync *Still* Copying All Files?
Hi, all. This is my first post to the list, so please forgive me if this is an old issue. I scoured the mailing list archives by hand and could find no mention of it, and the official FAQ-o-matic mentions it, but doesn't offer a fix that works for me. I've set up an rsync daemon on Windows NT4 by installing the latest cygwin. Using the cygwin1.dll and rsync.exe, I'm able to connect

Samba setup for CentOS-4.4 workstations
I am trying to get our prototype Linux workstation to allow users to see shares on our legacy MicroSoft Windows-2000 Domain Server, I can find guides for setting up Samba as a Primary Domain Controller but I cannot seem to locate any good and expansive guide for setting up a samba workstation and just joining the domain. Perhaps this is so trivial a process no-one thinks that it requires such a

...39;t force W2k to delete and nothing works. It does, however, mount my homedirectory from the samba server and that works just fine. I got so frustrated that i found an old NT4 box and tried it. It worked perfectly!!! Is there some sort of crazy new "security descriptor structure" in NTFS5 that NTFS4 doesn't have? Does anyone know what's going on here? I've hit google harder than I ever have in my life and I'm still stumped.
