Does the NAS DSM reset battery.charge.low to 10 or is it internal to the
UPS? You will have to experiment by disconnecting the UPS control lead
from the NAS and connecting it (if possible) to the Mac. After setting to

Hello all,
I'm having problems with what I'm told should be a straightforward
issue.
The message in /var/log/daemon is:

The system doesn't shutdown
P.S.2
Today I experienced something weird. As I was working, the system started a
shutdown and did shut down, then the UPS got powered off and then back on -
an expected behavior for a power fail situation. However there was no power
failure!
I ran nut-journal to check what happened:

upsmon+snmp-ups does not shut down system
I've googled and RTFM'ed, but still can't solve this one. I hope you folks can.
This affects my entire computer cluster, but let's start simple: I've got a
computer running NUT; OS is Scientific Linux 5.5; kernel 2.6.18-274.12.1.el5xen.
It connects to an APC SMART-UPS via an APC SmartCard using the snmp-ups driver.
It generally works: upsmon will detect if the battery is low

No shutdown on empty battery
Hello,
I set up a FreeBSD 8.2 system with nut 2.6.1 and a Powerware 5115
connected by RS-232. I expected this setup to shut down before running
out of battery power, but I either missed some important configuration
or something else went wrong:
The syslog says:

Hi,
I'm using debian sarge on my server and connected a MGE-ups ellipse via

I searched the internet for the answer, but can't find it.

The system doesn't shutdown
...ly the same thing two days ago with an MGE Ellipse 1500 in
which I had changed the batteries. Its clear that the script upssched-cmd
should check the real battery charge before shutting anything down. I'll
look at this, but it will be next week at the earliest.
Meantime your change to the NOTIFYFLAGs is a good fix.

181 message.exe processes
Windows Server 2000 R2 Standard edition x64
I found a bunch of message.exe processes running on this system (181 of
them in total). The UPS was going on-battery a lot!
There is no attached screen and I don't see any message boxes when I RDP.
Do I just set NOTIFYCMD to something nonsensical to stop it from running
message.exe?
It would be nice if the Windows defaults were shown in the

Email Alerts for Multiple UPSs with upssched
Ah! So I can detect the source UPS in the upssched.conf and pass it as a distinct event to the shell script. That sounds like an excellent approach.
Thanks!

problem_connection_NUT_infosec
Hello everybody,
I have an Infosec's UPS and would like to shutdown
my computer when he's on battery.
My Infosec's UPS is not in the list of supported UPS
but the driver is the same than megatec's driver
(This is the same factory with some differences...)
So, here are my configurations :
-- Ubuntu Desktop --
apt-get install nut
OK
