Lenovo Ideapad 320 touchpad not recognized
...pad doesn't work. I've been reading everything I can find about this problem, tried a few different grub parameters that didn't help, and the most advanced solution that I've tried was this: https://superuser.com/questions/1156057/touchpad-not-working-on-centos-7-2 1. Add i8042.nopnp to grub command line in /etc/default/grub: # change this: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="... quiet splash" # to: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="... quiet splash i8042.nopnp" 2. Update your grub config (as root): # If you're using UEFI boot grub2-mkconfi...

CentOS 7.4 fails to boot as Xen PV guest: resurfaces (now also) with centosplus kernel 693.11.6.el7
...tingly, the crash is now sudden and (even at loglevel=7) without further information. The crash after the i8042/mousedev is (I think) unrelated to these devices, since the system crashes in the same way even with "i8042.debug i8042.nokbd i8042.noaux i8042.dumbkbd i8042.nomux i8042.noloop i8042.nopnp psmouse.proto=bare" added to the kernel command line (and then you don't see any PS/2 and mousedev). So something immediately after the mousy things triggers the crash: 0.2293541 io scheduler cfq registered 0.2295071 pci_hotplug: PCI Hot Plug PCI Core version: 0.5 0.2295241 pciehp: PCI...

video issue - Intel Atom based motherboard D2500HN
Hi all, I recently bought a Intel D2500HN motherboard with Intel GMA 3600 video card. I want to install FreeBSD 9-Release on it via PXE, but after booting the system, it seems that video card driver doesn't work properly. Have a look at this picture: http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/5648/20120714393.jpg I've tried the # vidcontrol 80x25 but unfortunately it doesn't help. Do

3.0.0-rc2: Xen: High amount of kernel "reserved" memory, about 33% in 256MB DOMU
Hi, another issue I''m seeing with 3.0-rc2 and Xen is that there is an unexpectedly high amount of kernel reserved memory. I suspect that Linux allocates page table entries and corresponding data structures for the whole 6GB areas of the provided ''physical RAM map'' even though it has rather big unusable holes in it.
