I am considering switch to xapian (solr and java... pls noe) as the port is quite tempting from an ease of integration perspective, but the easiest solution would be to resolve these odd indexing errors.? Anyone have a clue?

I am accessing my dovecot mail via iOS 13 beta without issue. (noe on eta 3, but had no issues with beta 2 or 3. Well, no issues with MAIL that is).
I am running current doevcot.
I just opened the mail client on my phone:

fail2ban behavior
...ines in my log and it works. During restarts of fail2ban,
only some previous ip's get banned immediately whereas some need a
reoccurrence despite the jail's config specification of maxretry and
findtime suggesting the entries mandate blocking.
I'd assume the behavior after a restart is noe way if it weren't for
the seemingly random immediate notification of blocks being different?
Anyone with experience using fail2ban know anything about this?
Thanks,

Backup of the 5 last revisions of files
...rbose -progres -a --link-dest=/mnt/usbd/daglig/backup1
My question is: Can anyone help me with a script that takes backup of for
example the 5 last revisions of the files on /home, so that backup1
contains version 1 of a file, backup2 contains version 2 of a file and so
on? Of course if a file has noe revision it should only be kept in its
originalyy state in backup1.
I have googled for this for quite a while but I have not found anything so
far, so I hope someone can give me som advice on this.
Thanks a lot!

CentOS 6.5 install
Hello, I'm a newbie so here's my question.
I'm trying to install CentOS 6.5 on a HP Proliant 350e server. This server
has 4x 1TB hard drives. I'd like to enable the hardware RAID 5 and stripe
all 4 disk into one 3TB logical volume. Then install CentOS on the 3TB
volume. However after I install I can't get the server to boot.
I know about the MDOS vs GPT labeling issue.

MP3/Vorbis/Opus: What I think I hear
...s can be confirmed:
Comparing MP3 with Vorbis at rather high bitrates, I had the impression the Vorbis sounded more crispy, while MP3 sounded somewhat softened. I preferred Vorbis for that reason.
When comparing Opus to Vorbis, I got the impression that Opus has a slight tendency towards MP3, but noe I feel Vorbis' crispyness is maybe a little too much, and I think I'll prefer Opus. Unfortunately my search for a good free player for Android was not very successful (the shipped players all can't play Opus, and I think you can't just install codes, or can you?)

[LLVMdev] llvm (hence Clang) not compiling with Visual Studio 2008
Hello,
I have just updated my svn copy of the llvm/clang repositories after quite
a long time of inactivity, and found it not compiling on Windows with
Visual Studio 2008.
The incriminated file is:
llvm/lib/MC/MCModule.cpp
Where several calls to "std::lower_bound" are made, like:
atom_iterator I = std::lower_bound(atom_begin(), atom_end(),

g711 ulaw vs alaw
Hi All,
Can someone explain to me the difference between g711's ulaw and alaw
codecs? Is it just different header info or is the actual payload in
each encoded differently? I have thus far noe been able to find any
difinative information onthe matter. All I've managed to find out
that they are "similar", they sound the same and that it doesn't
matter which you use. Could someone knowledgable please enlightmen me?

F-statistic: 1.199e+04 on 9 and 291 DF, p-value: < 2.2e-16
Whilst there seems to be some correlation between coefficients and terms
that doesn't apply in all cases. I've tried many other combinations but noe
that gave me coefficients similar to the defining equations. Bottom line is
I don't understand what the formula specification should be for the
multivariate version.
Thanks for any help given.

How to trigger an action from script/console
Hi,
I have build a conversion script from an old database to a new one
(which is designed to work with ROR), and every action converts one
table and takes over 5 minutes... When I trigger the actions from my
browser, I finally end up with a "Failed to start properly"...
So, simple question: How can I do this from the console, that is to say,
trigger one of my controller''s

dovecot-fts-xapian is easy to configure, but has a big downside compared
to solr in that the indexer runs as root.
