ssh2 authentication and ip forwarding
...ections or
authentication agent. Is this being worked on, scheduled for work,
worth me putting time into, or is there good reason to hold off at
present?
[Actually I guess its more a openssh issue rather than portable openssh
issue... but I'm not on that list and don't use openbsd.]

puppet resource for group
Hi,
Why doesn''t puppet resource group tell me who belongs to the group?
Given the group such as:
mg_team:x:501:smruph, cosman, msmith, mhankey
With the command:
puppet resource group mg_team
only returns:
group { ''mg_team'':
gid => ''501'',
ensure => ''present''
}
I was expecting:
group { ''mg_team'':

I hope this sounds promising, and welcome any comments or questions.

facter --puppet does not report "environment"
Is it normal that "facter --puppet" does not show the environment
variable? is there a way to have it include it?
Thanks a lot,
Mohamed.

Environment specified by external nodes ignored
My custom external nodes script sets the environment variable, but Puppet

For testing, I have a manifest that deploys this template to a file:

X100P in the UK - seems to short the dialtone
Hi
A quicky - has anyone had success with an X100P in the UK ?
I'm seeing some oddness - when I plug the wall socket into the card, I lose
dialtone. If I unplug it, it comes back. Does this sound familiar to anyone
?
Cheers

Challenge response authentication and PAM
...give
me the challenge - which can make things a little tricky :-)
I can well believe this might be a fault in the PAM pam_opie module I
am using, so has anyone got Challenge/Response authentication working
under PAM and with the challenge being given? If so what pam module
are you using?

ACLS without winbind (but WITH correct user mapping)
...ix server via setfacl I then see
Everyone
bob (Unix User\bob)
tom (Unix User\tom)
staff (Unix Group\staff)
Great!
Attempting to add a user to the ACLs from the windows side fails however.
I click edit, then add and type in a username
In the box I now have
bob (Unix User\bob)
tom (Unix User\tom)
nigel (DOMAIN\nigel)
staff (Unix Group\staff)
Note the DOMAIN and not "Unix User". Clicking apply simply makes the new
entry disappear.
If username mapping is working correctly, why does adding an ACL for
DOMAIN\nigel not set an ACL for Unix User\nigel?
Any help appreciated!

Samba print queues showing old jobs
...that, after a cups update, if you looked
at the print queues in Windows they would show old jobs that had long
been printed. After a further cups update this quirk went away but it's
just come backs again - possibly after the recent cups update. Or is it
me!? Anything worth checking?

StrictHostKeyChecking
...entries (so using IP address) from my desktop box, ssh (now 2.3.0p1)
SEGVed. Looks like there is some subtle interaction between having an
illegal value for StrictHostKeyChecking, an ip address target (I am
sure I have done this before with named hosts) and a host that is not
in known_hosts.

ext2->ext3 empty file creation
Hello,
I am using kernel version 2.4.7-10
I upgraded one of the ext2 partition to ext3.
the partitions are nearly empty.
I ran a program to create empty files, having names in
lexicographical order. The time taken to create empty
files (100 .. 100000) is same on an ext2 partition and
a ext3 partition.
Can anyone pls. tell me why there is no difference in
the time taken.
Is the htree algo.
