First PRI
Hello All,
I am getting my first PRI installed in a couple of weeks and I wanted to
ask for a little advice. I have a single span Digium card I will be
using for the install.
Id there a benefit to which protocol I use? When asked, I told them to
set it up as NI2. The PRI is through MCI and will be used for local and
long distance with DIDs and features like CallerID, etc.
Any advice would be

...ss of installing a PRI line and we are going to connect
it to an Asterisk Box.
Verizon called us today to find out some information. I am surprised that
they have never heard of Asterisk or Digium. But anyways, they needed some
information in order to set up the circuit.
Does the TE110P support NI1 or NI2? (I think the answer is both)
What is the number of digits outpulsed?
Is there a version number on the TE110P card?
Thank you in advanced to anyone who might be able to answer these questions
for me. I tried to explain to Verizon that it would work and that the
system is flexible but...

Best dahdi switchtype to emulate (network side)?
...he swtich types that dahdi can emulate, what is the most
complete/tunable solution?
The premise for those interested is a PRI connection to a Dialogic
card, channels 1-10 inbound, the rest outbound. The vendor states
that their point of view, if the CO has a DMS100 that is the easiest
(PRI, 1-23, NI1, B8ZS, 10 channel choke for inbound). I won't type
the two pages of "CO tweaks" for a 5ess... I also don't want the
monthly reoccurring when we have multiple PRIs to tie into as it is.
Thanks for the input!

revisit to legacy PBX and CID over PRI
...aining about having no caller ID.
I tried this, but it still would not complete the call.
hidecallerid=no ;fix for no answer
restrictcid=yes
usecallingpres=no
I have also tried to make the callerid name null, but asterisk still tries to send the data.
I have also tried to dumb it down from NI2 to NI1, but asterisk still tries to send the callerID name in the PRI debug.
Is there a way to send callerid number and not the name?

zaphfc and ASUSCOM working in the US
I finally got my ASUSCOM (Cologne chip) ISDNLink card working here in
the US.
When a call arrives, I get "Unknown IE 42 (Unknown Information Element)"
and "Unknown IE 21 (Unknown Information Element)".
IE 21 (0x15) is defined as Q931_CALL_STATE_SUSPEND_REQUEST. IE 42
(0x2a) is not defined in the code and I couldn't google it.

ISDN BRI termination via Cisco?
...e RT338's to bring out POTS lines from the BRI's,

This had me seriously looking at alternatives for ISDN BRI VoIP termination.
Unfortunately, it looks like even on Linux, the support is somewhat poor for
ISDN cards doing NI1, and I really would prefer not to run a one-off box
with a relatively foreign (to us) OS which seems like even those with some
familiarity have trouble making work.
So I was looking at Cisco stuff, for something unrelated, and noticed that
they have the "VG 200", which appears to maybe b...

PRI Lines not being answered (No User Responding)
...will ring once or twice, again show as answered, but then
give a busy tone. I have a TE110P.
I called my carrier and they told me that it gave their trace a "No
User Responding" - however I show my box is answering! Any ideas? I
verified that my D-chan should be 24 and the switch is of ni1.
Is there some other method or signalling I ought to be using to
indicate to the carrier's switch that I have answered? Should I have
the carrier switch something for me?
Thanks in advance guys - i'm going to put my entire experiences on
this one in the wiki :)

Yes, I meant actually the chan_capi module... Nice to know.

So in the end there a lot of reasons to go for a 'better' card.

Does Asterisk support NI-1 (DMS 100) and NI-2 for T1s?
Hi list,
For a client I am setting up a system which will use T1 PRI from Primus, who
offer only NI-1 and NI-2 protocols for D-Channels. Previousely I have only
used switchtypes euroISDN and National. Although the documentation says
Asterisk does support NI-1 ans NI-2, but wanted to get your opinion if you
have used these protocols on an Asterisk box and if there were any things to
consider. If

Connection leak in sqlpool for ACL Dict Postgres in v2.1.15 (14907:b96df105ec55) and v2.2.beta1 (15857:07dfd4391d22)

Panic: file driver-pgsql.c: line 84 (driver_pgsql_set_state): assertion failed: (state == SQL_DB_STATE_BUSY || db->cur_result == NULL)

You can trigger the error with the "dict" socket easily:
while true; do
( echo -en "H2\t0\t0\t\tacl\nI1\tshared/shared-boxes/\n"
sleep 1
) | socat - unix:/var/run/dovecot2.2/dict
done
I interprete H2-I1..-bang.log.gz (logged with v2.1) so, that each time
the ACL dict is iterated, driver_sqlpool_query_s() is executed two
times, once for user_shares and once for anyone_shares. I guess that...

Difference between E1 and PRI
Hi all,
I have seen the term E1 and PRI used interchangably when referring to
a voice service with 30B channels and 1 D channel. Are they just
different terms for the same thing or is there some technical
difference. Even Newton's telco dictonary seemed a bit fuzzy on this
topic. I have seen it said the PRi is a protocol that runs on top of
E1. Is this true?
